Marketing Manager Job Duties:
Working closely with the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, the Director of Marketing & Fan Engagement will provide leadership and strategic direction for the marketing and fan engagement unit within Athletics. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of integrated marketing plans for Milwaukee Athletics. In addition, this position will be responsible for the game entertainment and experience at Panther Athletics events, they will lead all on-campus and student marketing initiatives, as well as the coordination of community engagement, outreach activities and external events, and advertising that promote Panther Athletics. This position will also oversee the mascot program, spirit squads, and student marketing staff. Approximate Percent of Time Position Duties (In Order of Importance) Applied Over a YearMARKETING & PROMOTIONS 40
%- Serve as the primary marketing contact for assigned sport programs including: men's basketball, women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball, and baseball.
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional plans for assigned sport programs in collaboration with the communications unit, ticket and development offices, and sponsorship sales staff that are designed to drive attendance and fan engagement.
- Assist in developing and implementing student marketing initiatives to increase awareness and attendance among all sport programs.
- Serve as the primary contact for strategy and activation of content through the Panthers+ app.
- Assist in assuring fulfillment of sponsorship activations elements.
- Lead and execute the department's advertising strategy across traditional advertising platforms as well as digital, social media and emerging platforms.
- Research, develop and purchase all promotional and premium items designed to increase fan engagement and attendance.
GAME ENTERTAINMENT & PRODUCTION 30
%- Serve as the game day producer for assigned sports which would entail writing game scripts, directing in-game fan experience/entertainment elements, and oversight of game day marketing staff.
- Leads in the coordination and creation of all game day videoboard elements including: "hype" videos, video headshots, sponsored activations, fan prompts, etc.
- Serves as a liaison for all in-game entertainment assets including arena host, public address announcers, and
DJ. COMMUNITY MARKETING, ENGAGEMENT, OUTREACH & EVENTS 20
%- Assist in executing special marketing programs and events such as reading program, "school day" games, fan engagement activities on campus and in the community, and tent-pole campus events (i.e. Homecoming).
- Hire, train and supervise mascot staff in addition to managing mascot appearances for athletic events, campus events and within the community.
OTHER:
10%- Hire, train and supervise student marketing staff.
- Participates in, and is responsible for, the development of assigned budgets; includes budget oversight responsibilities for the marketing unit, cheer team and dance team.
- Serve on department and cross-campus working groups and subcommittees.
- Serve as a liaison between cheer and dance programs and pep band
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations.

Bachelor's degree, or combination of education and relevant work experience. At least one (1) year of experience working in college athletics or a professional sport setting. At least six (6) months of experience with live event/in-venue production including in-game promotions, game scripting, in-game sponsorship activation, and fan engagement/entertainment elements for athletic/sporting events. Demonstrated excellence with verbal, written, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coordinating on-campus and student marketing/engagement initiatives. Experience organizing community engagement and outreach activities. Experience executing advertising campaigns through channels including but not limited to: outdoor/billboard, signage, radio, TV, and/or social/digital/app. Experience ordering promotional premium items with tasks including but not limited to: identifying vendors, product selection, bid processing, proof review and/or final order placement.Education:
