Hybrid Base Salary:
Starting at $160,000; negotiable based on experience Position Summary A globally recognized consumer and lifestyle brand is seeking a strategic, collaborative leader to guide its North American brand direction and strengthen alignment with global headquarters. This is a broad brand leadership role encompassing brand strategy, brand management, organizational alignment, and cross-functional execution. The Director will work closely with executive leadership and teams across Marketing, Sales, Creative, Product, Licensing, Communications, and Operations. The ideal candidate is not limited to one marketing discipline. We are seeking someone who understands how a global brand is positioned, managed, and activated across functions, markets, and consumer touchpoints. Key Responsibilities Partner with executive leadership to define and advance the North American brand strategy. Oversee brand positioning, consistency, relevance, and long-term brand value across the region. Serve as a primary strategic liaison between the North American organization and global headquarters. Translate global brand direction into practical North American strategies and priorities. Bring North American consumer, cultural, and market perspectives into global decision-making. Lead cross-functional alignment across Brand, Marketing, Sales, Creative, Product, Licensing, Communications, and Operations. Ensure that brand strategy is consistently reflected across products, campaigns, partnerships, channels, and customer experiences. Establish processes and governance that improve collaboration, communication, and execution across regional and global teams. Influence senior stakeholders, build consensus, and resolve competing priorities. Identify strategic opportunities to strengthen brand relevance, consumer engagement, and sustainable growth. Qualifications Native-level or business-fluent Japanese and English. 10+ years of progressive experience spanning brand strategy, brand management, marketing strategy, business strategy, or related leadership functions. Broad experience managing or influencing a brand across multiple functions and consumer touchpoints. Strong cross-functional leadership experience, including the ability to lead through influence. Experience with a globally recognized consumer, entertainment, retail, lifestyle, character, media, or licensing brand. Proven success working across regional and global organizations. Strong executive presence and exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to balance long-term brand vision with practical business execution. Strong understanding of North American consumers, culture, and market dynamics.
