Job Description
Overview The Farmers' Market Manager is responsible for the overall operation, promotion, and growth of Judd Hill Farmers Market, a nonprofit, producer-only farmers' market serving Northeast Arkansas. This position oversees market operations, vendor relations, marketing, special events and community partnerships while ensuring an exceptional experience for vendors, customers, volunteers, and sponsors. This is an independent contract position. Primary Responsibilities Plan and oversee weekly market operations for Tuesday and Saturday markets. (Tuesday attendance for manager isn't required; Saturday attendance is.) Recruit, onboard, and retain vendors while ensuring compliance with market/DOH rules and producer-only standards. Maintain relationships with farmers, artisans, food producers, sponsors, community partners, and volunteers. Coordinate vendor applications, inspections, communications, and market assignments. Develop and execute annual marketing strategies across social media, email, website, print, and local media. Plan and execute special events, seasonal markets, educational programming, and anniversary celebrations. Manage the market's administrative functions including reporting, board communication, and merchandise inventory. Coordinate volunteers. Resolve vendor and customer concerns professionally. Collect and analyze attendance, vendor participation, and program data to guide future growth. Maintain a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that reflects the mission of the market. Preferred Qualifications Experience in event management, community development, marketing, agriculture, or business. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience with social media management, graphic design platforms, and email marketing. Ability to build relationships with diverse partners. Comfortable working independently. Availability for Saturdays Passion for small business.
