We design, print, and sell our own products through our Isla Vista retail store, ecommerce channels, wholesale partners, and events throughout California. Our products are created in-house through our sister company, High Desert Print Co. We're looking for a motivated leader to take ownership of our retail operations and help grow the brand through exceptional execution, team leadership, merchandising, and customer experience. About the Role This is more than a traditional retail management position. You will be responsible for overseeing our retail store operations, ecommerce fulfillment, inventory management, staff leadership, and execution of new product launches and marketing initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both operations and leadership, takes pride in organization and execution, and wants to play a key role in growing a local brand. The position is hybrid, splitting time between our Isla Vista retail store and our Santa Barbara office. Role Details Retail Operations Oversee day-to-day retail store operations Maintain store presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising standards Ensure a positive customer experience in-store and online Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement Team Leadership Hire, train, schedule, and manage retail staff Coach employees and maintain accountability to company standards Manage employee performance and staffing needs Develop team leaders and create a positive workplace culture Inventory & Merchandising Manage inventory levels, transfers, restocks, and product organization Coordinate new product launches and seasonal merchandising updates Work with production and creative teams to ensure products are available and properly presented Ecommerce & Customer Service Oversee Shopify order fulfillment and ecommerce operations Handle escalated customer service issues Ensure timely processing of online orders and customer communications Brand Execution Execute retail promotions, product launches, and marketing initiatives Help bring the Island View Outfitters brand to life through store presentation and customer experience Coordinate with ownership, marketing, and creative teams on upcoming projects Qualifications 2+ years of retail, operations, or management experience Previous experience supervising employees Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems independently Comfortable leading a team and holding employees accountable Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership Preferred Qualifications Brand and product development Shopify or ecommerce experience Inventory management experience Merchandising or visual display experience Apparel, lifestyle, or retail brand experience The salary range posted for this position allows for range of experience. Many of aspects of this position can be trained and developed on.
