ABOUT AZTEC HOTEL
Aztec Hotel is a distinctive 77-room boutique property joining Marriott's prestigious Autograph Collection — a curated portfolio of boutique hotels united by their individuality, character, and commitment to extraordinary guest experiences. Located on the iconic San Antonio River Walk in the heart of San Antonio, Texas, Aztec Hotel opens mid-June 2026, blending artful design, rich cultural storytelling, and warm, personalized hospitality to create an experience that is exactly like nothing else. The hotel is home to Zenita, a rooftop restaurant offering stunning views of the River Walk, and Kellwood, an intimate tequila lounge nestled within the hotel — two distinct dining and drinking destinations that will play a central role in the hotel's event programming and overall guest experience. We are building a passionate founding team and are looking for a creative, driven individual to own our sales efforts, events marketing, and social media presence from the very beginning.POSITION SUMMARY
The Event Marketing & Sales Manager is a dynamic, three-pillar role at the heart of Aztec Hotel's growth strategy. Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive revenue through proactive sales efforts, bring the hotel to life through a vibrant events calendar, and build an engaged audience through compelling social media content. This is a founding role — you will have the rare opportunity to shape the hotel's commercial strategy, brand voice, and community presence from day one.REPORTS TO

Sales ▸ Proactively solicit and close new business for group room blocks, private events, corporate accounts, and catering-only opportunities ▸ Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, event planners, wedding coordinators, tour operators, and corporate travel managers ▸ Conduct site visits, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts in alignment with hotel revenue goals and Marriott brand standards ▸ Manage a pipeline of leads and accounts using the hotel's CRM/sales platform, providing regular forecasts and reports to the General Manager ▸ Represent Aztec Hotel at trade shows, networking events, bridal expos, and industry functions to generate awareness and drive bookings ▸ Collaborate with Revenue Management to align sales strategies with occupancy and rate goals Events Marketing ▸ Plan and execute a strategic events calendar including launch activations, themed experiences, live music nights, pop-up collaborations, holiday programming, and private buyouts ▸ Partner with Food & Beverage, Rooms, and Spa teams — and leverage Zenita rooftop restaurant and Kellwood tequila lounge as signature event venues — to develop revenue-generating, brand-building experiences that drive occupancy and incremental spend ▸ Manage end-to-end event logistics: vendor coordination, budgeting, on-site execution, and post-event reporting ▸ Source and negotiate with vendors, entertainers, sponsors, and community partners ▸ Track event performance and report key metrics and ROI to the General Manager Social Media & Digital Content ▸ Manage and grow the hotel's presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other relevant platforms ▸ Develop a monthly content calendar that reflects the hotel's brand story, seasonal programming, local culture, and Autograph Collection standards ▸ Create and curate compelling content — including photography direction, Reels, Stories, and short-form video — independently and with creative partners ▸ Engage daily with followers, respond to comments and DMs, and foster an active online community ▸ Coordinate influencer and press visits: identify, vet, and host content creators and travel media aligned with the hotel's aesthetic ▸ Monitor analytics and adapt strategy based on performance data and hospitality trends ▸ Ensure all digital content aligns with Marriott Autograph Collection brand guidelines while maintaining Aztec Hotel's unique identity Brand & Community ▸ Serve as a steward of Aztec Hotel's tone of voice, visual identity, and storytelling across all guest touchpoints ▸ Represent the hotel at local business events, tourism initiatives, and River Walk community engagements to build awareness and drive referrals ▸ Collaborate with Marriott's regional marketing and sales teams to participate in network-wide programs and promotionsQUALIFICATIONS
Required ▸ 2-4 years of experience in hotel sales, hospitality marketing, events coordination, or social media management — hotel or lifestyle brand experience strongly preferred ▸ Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close sales in a hospitality or service environment ▸ Demonstrated ability to plan and execute events from concept through completion ▸ Active social media portfolio showing content creation skills, platform growth, and audience engagement ▸ Familiarity with hotel CRM/sales platforms (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, Salesforce) and social media tools (e.g., Later, Meta Business Suite) ▸ Strong written and verbal communication skills with a natural instinct for brand voice and storytelling ▸ Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a pre-opening hotel environment Preferred ▸ Experience with a Marriott or Autograph Collection property ▸ Familiarity with San Antonio's corporate, tourism, and events market ▸ Photography, videography, or basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) ▸ Established relationships with local vendors, event planners, influencers, or media contacts ▸ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related fieldss growth!Pay:
