Job Description
Description Kindred Hospital San Antonio is a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital specializing in the treatment of patients recovering from post-intensive care and medically complex conditions. Our hospital provides both intensive care and telemetry-level services, offering advanced monitoring and support for patients requiring extended medical care. With a multidisciplinary team dedicated to personalized treatment plans, we focus on helping patients achieve significant recovery and transition to the next level of care. Job Summary Coordinates with assigned hospitals in a market, continuing education and in-service education including General Orientation. Ensures monthly education calendars are completed. Coordinates annual compliance and code of conduct training and other needed staff education. Develops short-term and long-term educational goals based on identified needs through Quality Council and annual assessments. Collaborates with managers and peers to evaluate staff competency. Essential Functions Develops short-term and long-term educational goals based on identified needs through Quality Council, Annual Assessments, etc. Develops specific orientation modules for new IP, new RN and new LVN. Forecasts and administers education operating budget. Oversees planning and coordination of continuing and in-service education for the market hospitals. Oversees development, planning and coordination of general hospital orientation. Coordinates with various department to include their specialty area. Oversees development, planning and coordination of periodic in-service training on those issues identified by the Hospital Quality Council or a designated Performance Improvement Team. Serves as member of Hospital Quality Council. Promotes adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance program by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word-processing and spreadsheet software. Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations. Ability to maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, appropriate prioritization and time management skills. Ability to work under stress and to respond quickly in emergency situations. Must read, write and speak fluent English. Must have good and regular attendance. Approximate percent of time required to travel: 20% Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in nursing required Master's degree or clinical specialty preferred. Licenses/Certification Appropriate state licensure for registered nurse. BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience Minimum two years' experience as clinical preceptor or management experience required. Minimum five years' experience in an acute care Medical/Surgical and/or ICU/CCU setting.
