Job Description

Purpose:
Responsible for coordinating and executing internal and external communications and marketing activities for the City. This includes assisting with marketing plans; producing digital and print content; coordinating social media; supporting media relations activities; maintaining website content; and ensuring consistent use of the City brand. Provides routine marketing support to internal departments and assists with public education and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications:
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Assists in implementing the City s marketing and communication strategies, including social media, website updates, public relations materials, and branding. Produces content for a variety of digital and printed communication channels. Coordinates advertising and public education materials in support of departmental initiatives and City priorities. Consults with City staff to create, revise, and update web content; conducts regular reviews of assigned website pages to ensure accuracy and relevance. Supports the City s Public Information functions by preparing written materials, routine media responses, and public information updates. Participates in outreach communications and provides presentations to community groups as needed. Ensures consistent application of the City brand and logo across materials. Provides input for the departmental budget and monitors assigned project expenditures.

Excellent customer relations practices. Follow all City safety rules and operating procedures. Follow record retention laws for all paperwork. Maintain proficiency by attending trainings, meetings, and networking. Make use of available resources to stay informed of regulations affecting responsibilities. Practice courtesy and maintain good working relationships.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field. Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in marketing or a related field. Equivalent combinations accepted.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of supervisory principles for small teams. Knowledge of writing and design principles. Knowledge of digital media formats. Knowledge of journalism and English usage. Knowledge of marketing. Skilled in organizing projects. Skilled in communication. Skilled in judgment and analysis. Skilled in software.
Conditions:
Valid driver s license. Background checks.
Preferences:
Experience with Microsoft and Adobe products.
