As part of the ASE Security team, you will help manage the security needs of Apple's services around the world. We're looking for a Technical Enablement Engineer to help engineers across Apple build secure software with confidence. In this role, you will close the gap between security guidance and engineering practice, crafting the documentation, automation, and learning resources that make secure development intuitive, accessible, and with minimal friction at scale. You will be the connective tissue between security standards and the engineers who implement them across the software development lifecycle, translating complex technical requirements into clear, actionable guidance. You'll play a meaningful role in ensuring the highest standard of security across Apple's engineering organizations, helping teams adopt new practices and tools, integrate security frameworks, and to stay aligned as standards evolve. Description As a Technical Enablement Engineer on the Services Engineering Security team, you will own the creation and maintenance of the resources that application, infrastructure, and platform engineers depend on to build securely. This is a highly collaborative cross-functional role that blends software development, technical writing, and strategic communication to drive measurable adoption of security practices across Apple's engineering community. Documentation & Knowledge Management Author and maintain a comprehensive library of security guidance including FAQs, skills libraries, decision guides, and onboarding documentation targeted at software engineers Identify gaps in existing documentation by analyzing inbound questions, support trends, and Radar submissions, and close those gaps proactively Establish and uphold documentation standards, ensuring content remains accurate, discoverable, and aligned with evolving engineering practices Automation & Tooling Design and build Slack-based automation to surface security FAQs, route questions to appropriate resources, and reduce repetitive support burden on the team Develop automation to streamline Radar creation workflows, enabling engineers to file well-structured, actionable reports with minimal friction Build feedback loops that capture frequently asked questions from engineers and route insights back into living documentation and feature requests LLM Skills & AI-Assisted Development Author skills files and system-level instructions for LLM-assisted development tools, encoding security best practices including software supply chain security and secure software development lifecycle practices in a form that engineers can leverage directly within their development workflow Extend this capability to writing, communications, and outreach creating reusable LLM skills that help the team produce consistent, high-quality content at scale Iterate on skills files based on engineer feedback and observed usage patterns to improve accuracy and relevance over time Outreach & Communications Plan and execute internal communications campaigns that drive awareness and adoption of security practices, tooling, and policy changes across engineering organizations Develop targeted outreach strategies for different engineering audiences, adapting tone, format, and channel to maximize engagement and comprehension Partner with engineering leads and program managers to coordinate rollout communications for new security requirements and capabilities Track and measure the effectiveness of outreach efforts, using data to refine messaging and delivery Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a related field Familiarity with application security principles, secure coding practices, software supply chain security, or developer-facing security tooling is strongly preferred A portfolio or examples of technical documentation, automation scripts, or LLM skills files is welcome Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience in a software engineering, developer experience, or technical writing role with strong hands-on development skills Understanding principles of building and deploying software, process, and monitoring (SDLC) Experience in software supply chain engineering Demonstrated ability to write production-quality automation, including Slack workflows and integrations, and tooling for issue and ticket lifecycle management (e.g. Radar) Experience authoring technical documentation for engineering audiences - including FAQs, how-to guides, onboarding materials, and reference documentation Familiarity with LLM-assisted development tools and experience writing prompt instructions, skills files, or system prompts that shape model behavior for specific domains Experience designing and executing internal communications or outreach campaigns targeting technical audiences Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
