Description We are looking for an Email Developer to join a healthcare organization in Irvine, California on a Contract basis. This position focuses on executing active student communication initiatives across multiple business units, with an emphasis on building, maintaining, and deploying campaigns already running in production. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud specialist who can work confidently with email builds, audience data, and automated journeys in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Build and update email campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud using Content Builder to support student-facing communications across multiple business units.
- Conduct thorough quality checks before launch to confirm campaign accuracy, functionality, and readiness for deployment.
- Develop and modify AMPscript to deliver personalized messaging, apply conditional content, and support dynamic email experiences.
- Create, organize, and maintain Data Extensions used for audience segmentation and campaign execution.
- Manage existing journeys and Automation Studio processes to keep scheduled communications running smoothly.
- Investigate and resolve delivery, automation, or configuration issues that affect campaign performance or timing.
- Partner with marketing, design, and technical stakeholders to translate approved assets and requirements into production-ready emails.
- Work within a multi-business-unit Marketing Cloud environment with broad platform access while supporting continuity for live campaigns during a backfill period. Requirements
- 3-6+ years of hands-on experience working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Strong practical knowledge of AMPscript, including script creation, editing, personalization, and conditional logic.
- Experience building and managing Data Extensions and supporting segmented audience selection.
- Familiarity with Automation Studio and maintaining workflows connected to campaign sends.
- Proven ability to execute email development work directly; this role is not suited for strategy-only or coordinator-level backgrounds.
- Experience supporting campaigns across multiple business units is preferred.
- Ability to step into an active production environment quickly and manage priorities with minimal ramp-up.
- Working knowledge of email campaign execution within cross-functional teams in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment is a plus.
