Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for a degreed and highly experienced Communications & Marketing Specialist to fill a contract position in Atlanta, GA.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Communications & Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing integrated communication and marketing strategies that enhance employee engagement, strengthen brand awareness, promote organizational initiatives, and support business goals. This role combines strategic communications, content creation, internal and external marketing, campaign management, stakeholder engagement, and digital communications to ensure consistent and impactful messaging across multiple channels. The specialist partners with business leaders, project teams, and stakeholders to create compelling stories, support organizational change, drive audience engagement, and promote products, services, programs, and initiatives. Responsibilities align with enterprise communications functions including strategic messaging, executive communications, employee communications, web content strategy, and campaign development.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Expertise
  • Develop and execute communication plans that support business objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a communications advisor to business leaders and project teams.
  • Develop key messages that align with corporate objectives and brand standards.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across internal and external communication channels.
  • Support executive communications, leadership presentations, and organizational announcements. Business Acumen
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to increase awareness, engagement, and adoption of programs, products, services, and initiatives.
  • Create marketing plans including audience segmentation, messaging strategies, communication tactics, and successful metrics.
  • Coordinate multi-channel campaigns across email, web, social media, events, and digital platforms.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend adjustments to improve effectiveness.
  • Support marketing initiatives that enhance organizational reputation and stakeholder engagement. Engagement
  • Develop communication programs that increase employee awareness and engagement.
  • Support organizational events, recognition programs, and change initiatives.
  • Create internal marketing campaigns promoting strategic programs and organizational priorities.
  • Measure employee engagement and communication effectiveness. Driving Results
  • Develop promotional strategies and communication materials for organizational events, conferences, workshops, and leadership meetings.
  • Coordinate event communications before, during, and after events.
  • Support stakeholder outreach and engagement activities.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED
Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, English, Digital Media, or a related field
PREFERRED
  • Masters degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in communications, marketing, change management, digital marketing, project management, or public relations.

Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Professional business writing, editing, proofreading, and content development. Ability to translate complex business and technical topics into clear, compelling communications. Executive communication and presentation development. Storytelling and narrative-building skills. Marketing & Brand Management Marketing campaign planning and execution. Brand positioning and message development. Audience targeting and stakeholder engagement. Event promotion and awareness campaign development. Marketing collateral and promotional content creation. Digital Communications Website and intranet content management. Email marketing and newsletter development. Social media content creation and channel management. Content calendar management. Multimedia content coordination including graphics, video, and presentations. Analytics & Reporting Ability to analyze communication and marketing performance metrics. Experience developing dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports. Data-driven decision making and optimization. Survey design, feedback collection, and engagement analysis. Technology Proficiency Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). SharePoint content management. Power BI or similar reporting and analytics platforms. Microsoft Forms and survey tools. Project management and collaboration platforms. Digital marketing and content management systems (CMS).
