Job Description
Position Summary PowerFilm's Sales and Marketing Specialist is critical to growing revenue, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding our marketing capacity. This is a true multifaceted role for someone who wants to participate in the full customer journey, from identifying and qualifying prospects to supporting active opportunities, existing accounts, and the content that helps customers understand how PowerFilm can solve their challenges. The specialist will work across PowerFilm's markets and business units rather than owning a fixed territory or market segment. The balance between sales and marketing will change with business priorities. We will provide extensive product and process training, and the successful candidate will take on greater ownership as their knowledge and confidence grow. Sales Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to inbound inquiries, qualify opportunities, and provide a professional experience throughout the pre-sale and customer-support process.
- Identify prospective companies and appropriate contacts in target markets, conduct thoughtful outbound outreach, and maintain consistent follow-up.
- Generate, advance, and help close sales opportunities across PowerFilm's markets and business units.
- Support selected existing accounts while initially placing a strong emphasis on new business development.
- Maintain accurate contacts, activities, opportunities, follow-up tasks, and estimated values in HubSpot.
- Learn to distinguish strong opportunities from poor-fit inquiries, prioritize work appropriately, and close the loop professionally while maintaining opportunities to work together in the future.
- Coordinate long sales and product-development cycles by maintaining communication with customers and internal teams.
- Schedule and lead customer discovery calls as product knowledge develops, gather the information needed to evaluate applications, and clearly communicate next steps.
- Work with engineering, manufacturing, operations, accounting, shipping, and leadership to support customer projects and provide accurate information.
- Learn and understand product technical details to support customer inquiries.
- Ask for technical clarification when needed and avoid making unsupported commitments to customers. Marketing Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop first drafts of blog posts, case studies, website content, social posts, email campaigns, sales collateral, and product-launch materials.
- Use approved AI and marketing tools responsibly to support research, drafting, editing, and content development.
- Update website content and help improve PowerFilm's organic visibility in priority markets.
- Support trade shows, customer visits, and other targeted industry events, including planning, materials, participation, and follow-up.
- Help identify customer challenges and market opportunities that can inform future content, campaigns, and outreach.
- Review marketing and sales performance in HubSpot and other available reporting tools, and recommend improvements as needed. What Success Looks Like
- Customers and prospects receive timely, accurate, and respectful communication.
- The specialist consistently creates, documents, follows up on, and advances qualified opportunities through the sales process.
- The specialist understands why opportunities progress, stall, or are disqualified and applies those lessons to future work.
- Marketing projects are completed on schedule and support sales priorities.
- HubSpot records and pipeline information are complete enough to support follow-up, forecasting, and coaching.
- The specialist builds productive relationships across departments, advocates for customers constructively, and works within established processes.
- Ownership and independent decision-making increase steadily as product, market, and process knowledge develops. First-Year Development Priorities
- First 90 days: Learn how PowerFilm operates, develop a working understanding of its products and manufacturing capabilities, and recognize the characteristics of a strong potential opportunity.
- Within approximately six months: Independently develop most first drafts of assigned content, confidently manage routine follow-up, and begin scheduling and leading customer video meetings with appropriate support.
- Within the first year: Manage assigned contacts and opportunities in HubSpot, create deals when appropriate, support selected accounts, and take increasing ownership of both sales and marketing activities. Qualifications
- Clear, respectful written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in building customer and coworker relationships.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn technical products, manufacturing capabilities, customer applications, and internal processes.
- Ability to follow established processes, stay organized, and manage follow-up over sales cycles that may last months or years.
- Adaptability when customer needs or business priorities change during the workday.
- Sound judgment, including the confidence to ask questions and seek technical guidance before communicating externally.
- Comfort with outbound outreach, constructive feedback, ambiguity, and frequent rejection.
- Positive, collaborative approach and willingness to work across departments in a small-company environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel as business needs require, averaging one week per month.
