Job Description

Marketing Automation & Data Strategist West Des Moines, Iowa Marketing/Communications No 5/27/2026 What You Can Expect In This Role Lead and implement strategic solutions for the Marketing team using digital marketing automation platforms. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) within the digital marketing team by optimizing and managing campaign delivery to enhance customer experience. Continuously improve processes and programs while ensuring data integrity through analytics. Plan, collaborate and leverage new technologies and best practices to maintain a competitive advantage. What You'll Do In This Role
  • Serve as thought leader within the team that is responsible for designing, developing and delivering marketing automation solutions using full functionality of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) platform.
  • Serve as SME in SFMC by advising, guiding and supporting Marketing team.
  • Collaborate with customer relationship management (CRM) platform subject matter expert to enhance integration with marketing automation system on current and future marketing/sales operation needs.
  • Enable campaign tracking, single-source production reporting, marketing campaign results reporting return on investment (ROI) and performance measurement dashboards associated with managed programs and marketing tactics through metrics.
  • Understand and utilize basic query language (SQL) for query development, data management and optimization.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand Marketing Cloud initiatives, goals and business requirements to deliver high-quality technical solutions while managing relationships with external technology partners and consultants.
  • Evaluate new technologies and trends, recommend and champion improvements to existing strategies, systems, and processes to optimize and scale marketing performance.
  • Own high-level analytics/reporting for each distribution channel showcasing campaign effectiveness, performance, engagement, ROI and CRM health.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders from internal divisions and functions to execute campaigns in the most effective and cost-efficient manner.
  • Incorporate industry experience and develop point of view based on SFMC solutions.
  • Drive and reinforce commitment to high standards, ethics and adherence with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for ongoing management of existing marketing automation platforms/solutions including troubleshooting and resolving bugs and issues within Marketing Cloud platform.

What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or related field Preferred 5-7 years' email marketing experience Preferred 5-7 years' experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud including hands-on experience Preferred Experience in campaign management, digital marketing or marketing automation Preferred Experience in enterprise level Email Service Providers (ESPs) (i.e. Eloqua, Adobe Marketing Cloud, Marketo) Preferred Experience or proven knowledge of the Insurance industry Preferred Working knowledge in AMPscript, SFMC Implementation of Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS), HTML/CSS within the scope of creating email, SFMC's tools to edit/create Salesforce Records, Journey Builder and Automation studio and their respective activity types, Mobile Studio and use in Journey Builder, Advertising Studio, and Contact Builder and the Marketing Cloud Data Model Proven ability to extract meaning from data and use it to optimize marketing approach, improve processes and enable scale Strong knowledge of relevant marketing and sales technology applications Basic knowledge of Marketing Cloud Connect and marketing components/objects in Salesforce and SQL Proficient knowledge of marketing strategy and execution tactics Strong knowledge in data analysis and insight development and specific expertise in analyzing and reporting on marketing data sets to drive action and optimization Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously to meet project expectations and deadlines Creativity, ingenuity and proven project management skills Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with excellent follow-through Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification Preferred Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Admin Certification Preferred Some travel to office locations and/or conferences may be required. Management reserves the right to determine and approve incumbent suitability for this position. Salary Range Information USD $68,462.00 - USD $142,628.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. For a narrower salary range specific to your labor market, please inquire.
