Marketing Specialist Douglas County Farmers Co-op An Equal Opportunity Employer Job Summary:
This position is responsible for collaborating with management on marketing projects and compiling company advertisements, social media posts, and distributing them to appropriate agencies and platforms. The Marketing Specialist produces advertisements in a printed, digital, audio, video, e-commerce, and social media format. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist leverages technology with our customers by managing and building the company website and ecommerce websites, effectively maintaining the online inventory of products for sale, and assisting with online customer accounts. The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional weekend and/or evening events to attend.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prepare advertising and promotional material to increase sales of products and services.
  • Inspect layouts and advertising copy, and edit scripts, audio, video, and other promotional material for adherence to general manager specifications.
  • Confer with advertising agencies, department heads, and department specialists to discuss topics such as contracts, selection of advertising media, or product to be advertised.
  • Plan and execute advertising policies and strategies.
  • Submit estimates for program costs to general manager as part of campaign plan development.
  • Gather information from buyers to create and design ads using Design & Canva and Photoshop.
  • Collect advertisement worksheets from purchasing managers and department specialists to include sale pricing, selling points, and other pertinent information to assemble advertisements.
  • After advertisement is built, send back to management for review and finalize with General Manager.
  • Distribute digital advertisements to radio and website team for production.
  • Collaborates on a monthly and intermittent basis with purchasing manager on social media advertisements (Facebook, Instagram, Canva)
  • Responsible for building brand awareness and loyalty using company website and social media to include topics such as: sales events, Adopt-a-Pet opportunities, employee spotlights, employee pet spotlights, chick availability, job postings, etc.
  • Create annual print schedule for advertisements.
  • Review weekly Compass report for all newly created SKUS in the previous 7 days.
  • Verify accuracy of IMU SKU entry to website and audit pricing for consistency.
  • Retrieve product image from vendor or produce website quality images using camera equipment.
  • Log inventory on a spreadsheet at the end of the week for any items not already in the system and follow-up with receiving department to ensure product makes it to the floor as soon as possible.
  • Determine the web readiness of products by coaching buyers, purchasing managers, and department specialists on quality descriptions and SKU creation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal business relationships to facilitate work activities.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as: computers, calculators, printers, and scanners.
  • Utilize Constant Contacts for email campaigns.
  • Advise customers on technical or procedural issues.
  • Update company information, respond to reviews, customer feedback, and complaints on Google Business Profile.
  • Devise or evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, and questionnaires.
  • Review internet traffic metrics to identify what garners the most customer interactions
  • Identify and develop contacts for promotional campaigns and industry programs that meet identified buyer targets, such as dealers, distributors, or consumers.
  • Monitor and analyze sales promotion results to determine cost effectiveness of promotion campaigns.
  • Develop communications materials, advertisements, presentations, or public relations initiatives to promote awareness of products and services.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing strategies, using knowledge of products and markets.
  • Create and approve digital banners and commercials
  • Attend training sessions or professional meetings to develop or maintain professional knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and meet deadlines as appropriate.

  • Comfortable using Social Media Platforms (Meta, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
  • Associates Degree or greater in Marketing field preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Must navigate stairs from main floor to upstairs offices.
  • Light shuffling of documents and products up to 20 lbs.

Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
