CBIA is Connecticut's largest business organization, with thousands of member companies, small and large, representing a diverse range of industries from every part of the state. We are the leading voice for businesses at the state Capitol. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Marketing team.
JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Graphic Design & Marketing Specialist plans, develops, executes, and evaluates integrated marketing campaigns, with a primary responsibility of promoting CBIA's in-person and virtual events. The position combines hands-on graphic design with campaign strategy and execution across email, digital, social media, and print channels. This role develops and executes marketing campaigns—from audience identification and messaging to creative development, production, and performance evaluation—that are in line with organizational objectives. Working closely with the communications team on event branding, the position produces professional, brand-consistent, digital and print materials while managing multiple concurrent campaigns and rapidly changing event information. The role requires demonstrated professional experience in both marketing and graphic design. Candidates whose experience is limited solely to marketing or solely to design will not meet the requirements of the role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Design and produce digital and print marketing materials, including email graphics, digital advertisements, social media assets, event signage, triptychs, brochures, programs, sponsorship materials, presentations, postcards and direct mail, and promotional collateral.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute integrated and effective marketing campaigns to drive awareness, thought leadership, and promotional campaigns. Coordinate campaigns across digital, email, social, and print channels to ensure consistent brand experience.
  • Analyze metrics and reports to measure effectiveness of digital channels and communications with the goal of continuously improving strategy to reach and engage audiences, adjusting tactics as needed based on data for continued success
  • Serve as project manager on marketing and communication campaigns as needed to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop marketing and creative solutions that align with campaign objectives and organizational needs.
  • Maintain exceptional accuracy, quality, and brand consistency across all deliverables.
Review copy, links, formatting, dates, sponsor information, design elements, and production specifications before publication, and prepare professional, production-ready files for internal and external stakeholders. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and revise brand standards as needed to reflect the positioning and vision of CBIA and its affiliates while ensuring brand compliance and consistency in the branding guidelines for all developed materials
  • Conduct basic market research to support campaigns, keeping current on industry trends and competitor activity
  • Assist with creating, curating, and editing content for digital and print channels to align with brand messaging.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct design, copy, formatting, and production errors before publication
  • Strong working knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing channels, CRM platforms, website CMS (WordPress preferred), Cvent, and marketing automation platforms
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); experience with Canva or basic video/motion tools a plus
  • Excellent project management skills, including multi-tasking, prioritization of tasks, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with and ability to apply consumer and industry insights to identify issues and opportunities
  • Proven relationship-building skills with developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within teams, business units and organizations
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently, quickly, and thoroughly to prioritize and complete tasks under multiple deadlines
  • Exercises sound judgment, discretion and preserve confidentiality
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Three to five years of professional experience combining hands-on graphic design and multi-channel marketing execution
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, communications, or a related discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of educational and relevant professional experience
  • Professional portfolio required.
The portfolio must include both digital and print work and should demonstrate how creative decisions supported a defined audience, message, or marketing objective

$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
