Marketing Specialist

For more than 85 years, New England Institute of Technology, a private, non-profit institution, has prepared students for high-demand careers that strengthen industries, support communities, and drive economic growth. Through more than 50 associate, bachelor's, and master's degree programs, NEIT combines hands-on learning with accelerated degree pathways to help students confidently enter the workforce 25% faster than traditional college. Areas of study include Skilled Trades, Health Sciences, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Video Game Design, and many more. We are seeking a skilled Marketing Specialist to help us tell the next chapter of NEIT's story and contribute to the overall success of our institution and its programs.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Marketing Specialist will support the execution of marketing campaigns that advance both student enrollment and workforce development initiatives across New England Institute of Technology. This role will contribute to student recruitment, brand awareness, and workforce development efforts by utilizing a mix of digital, traditional, and relationship-based marketing strategies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of integrated marketing and communications initiatives that advance institutional goals and priorities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns that increase awareness of academic programs, generate prospective student interest, and support enrollment growth
  • Support marketing efforts that promote workforce development, youth programming, community engagement, and other strategic initiatives across the institution
  • Write, design, and distribute compelling content across digital, web, email, social media, print, and other marketing channels, ensuring consistency with institutional brand standards and messaging
  • Coordinate with Admissions, Faculty, Financial Aid, Student Support Services, and other campus partners to ensure alignment across campaigns
  • Partner with employers, industry organizations, and community stakeholders to support marketing initiatives that promote workforce development and community relations programming
  • Work closely with external vendors such as graphic designers, videographers, photographers, media contacts, marketing agencies, and print shops to ensure alignment to scope and strategy
  • Monitor campaign performance and assist in compiling key metrics
  • Maintain and organize marketing databases, digital asset galleries, and content libraries to ensure easy access, version control, and consistent use across campaigns
  • Support recruitment events such as open houses, college fairs, high school visits, and webinars to drive engagement and ensure positive experiences for students and families
  • Assist with development and maintenance of the NEIT website
  • Develop a deep understanding of the NEIT brand, coordinating unique touchpoints to boost awareness and positively impact enrollment
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Willingness and ability to become proficient in the college's mission, purpose and goals - and the role of marketing in achieving them
  • Collaborative and committed to serving as a positive and respectful representation of the NEIT community towards all colleagues, staff, and students
  • Demonstrated ability to create and adapt compelling content across a variety of formats and communication channels
  • Efficiency supporting multiple priorities, meeting deadlines and following through on assigned responsibilities
  • Highly organized and professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with photography/videography a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required; At least 3 years of marketing communications experience preferred. Previous higher education marketing experience a plus.
  • Positive and flexible attitude with excitement for impacting the lives of potential students
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think from a sales/marketing mindset and a customer mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively throughout all stages of a project
  • Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite (including Google Ads and Google Analytics), Microsoft Office Suite, and Wordpress (or similar CMS)
  • Experience with a marketing CRM (Slate preferred)
  • Experience creating written and visual content for varying audiences
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend events
  • Valid driver's license required
  • This position is an in-person role seated at the East Greenwich, RI campus
