Job Description

Since 2014, Rudd has grown from a local plumbing, HVAC, and electrical shop into one of the Lowcountry's fastest growing home service companies. Today we cover plumbing, heating, air, drains and sewer, electrical, and generators for homeowners and businesses across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. We're A+ accredited with the BBB, an Inc. 5000 company, a Charleston's Choice winner, a Summerville Journal Scene Readers' Choice winner, a new award to be announced soon (maybe by you), and we hold a 4.9 Google rating built one job at a time. Always Ready. Always Reliable. Always Rudd. That promise doesn't stop at the customer's front door. We want our neighbors to know Rudd before they ever need us, from youth athletics to the chamber breakfast to the local festival booth. That's what this role is for. Position Overview The Brand & Community Marketing Specialist is Rudd's storyteller and our face in the Lowcountry. Day to day, this is a social media and content role. You'll be out in the field with our technicians, capturing real work on your phone, cutting it into short form video, and publishing content that makes Rudd feel like the company your neighbor already trusts. Several times a month, you'll trade the camera for a handshake, representing Rudd at chamber events, ribbon cuttings, and networking mixers, and building relationships with HOAs, property managers, and property management teams across the Lowcountry. We want someone who can make a water heater replacement in Mount Pleasant feel like a story worth watching, and who can walk into a Summerville chamber breakfast and leave with three real relationships. You'll work directly with marketing leadership to align on strategy and priorities, then you'll own the execution so what you'll do will include, but not be limited to: Social Media & Content (roughly 65% of the role) Plan, shoot, edit, and publish original short form video and photo content, filmed on a phone and edited in CapCut, Canva, or similar tools. Our audience responds to content that feels real and lightly polished, so speed and authenticity matter here. Own the content calendar across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Nextdoor, and publish on a consistent, agreed cadence. Ride along with technicians to capture real jobs, real customers, and real employees. Turn our people into the brand. Manage the community side of social. Respond to comments and direct messages within one business day, escalate service issues to the right internal team, and never let a question sit. Maintain a usable content library so photos, footage, and testimonials stay organized and available for other marketing uses. Community Engagement & Sponsorships (roughly 35% of the role) Represent Rudd in person at 1-2 sponsorship activations per month, and/or chamber events, ribbon cuttings, and local networking as they come up. Build and maintain relationships with area chambers of commerce, HOAs, property management companies, youth sports leagues, schools, nonprofits, and neighborhood associations across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. Maintain a rolling 90 day community calendar so we can plan sponsorships in advance instead of reacting. Run point on event logistics, including booth setup and teardown, branded materials and giveaways, and lead capture. Hand off all customer information captured at events to our call center for follow up. Support the Marketing Manager on the broader sponsorship portfolio as needed. Bring us ideas. We want a scrappy, high visibility, low budget approach to being seen in this market, and we want you to bring proposals for where and how Rudd should show up next. What We're Looking For 2+ years of hands on experience running social media for a brand, business, or organization, with a portfolio you can show us. Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit short form vertical video on a phone using CapCut, Canva, or equivalent tools. A strong eye for design and the hands on ability to execute it. You'll be building graphics, not just briefing them. Genuine comfort talking to strangers. You'll be approaching business owners at networking events and asking homeowners if you can film their new water heater. Strong written communication and a feel for brand voice. Real knowledge of the Charleston and Lowcountry area, or a demonstrated ability to build a local network quickly. Highly organized. You'll be juggling a content calendar and an event calendar at the same time. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties as well as occasional out of town travel. Availability for evening and weekend events as the calendar requires. Preferred Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent hands on experience. Your portfolio and your local network carry the most weight with us. Experience in home services, the skilled trades, or another local service business. Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools. Existing relationships with Lowcountry chambers, nonprofits, HOAs, or property management companies. What's In It For You? Strong compensation package with base and bonus structure Great Benefits package including medical, vision, dental, disability, and life options Team-Focused work environment, "we" before "me" mentality 2 weeks of PTO, accrued biweekly up to 2 weeks Team outings to have some fun with your peers FREE drinks, snacks, and lunch items at the office! 401k with $1:$1 match up to 4% Seven (7) paid holidays including: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and Christmas Day At Rudd Plumbing Heating Air & Electrical we know that each and every team member plays an important role in driving the success of the company.
