full-time NAFED is a nonprofit, dealer-owned buying cooperative founded in 1959 and incorporated in South Carolina in 1981. The organization is owned and operated by its dealer members, with a singular focus on the food equipment industry

To maintain our status within the industry through creative and mutually beneficial vendor relationships and negotiations that result in win/win vendor programs that allow our dealer/members to be competitive within the industry. Position Summary NAFED is looking for a relationship-driven marketing leader to serve as the connective tissue between the association, its dealers, and its suppliers. This role blends strategic marketing with hands-on member relations: building NAFED's presence and training resources while staying personally in touch with the people who do the cooperative work. The right person is equal parts marketer and advocate

  • the kind of professional dealers and suppliers are glad to hear from. Marketing & Communications Partner with the executive team to build NAFED's long
  • and short-term marketing strategy. Advise dealers on marketing strategies for their own businesses
  • a distinctive, hands-on advisory function of this role. Build and execute marketing campaigns
  • email, social media, flyers, and other channels
  • that keep NAFED and its programs visible to members and prospects while adhering to the budget resources and CEO approved limits.

Develop key marketing partnerships and vendor relationships that extend NAFED's reach. Develop the marketing budget with the executive team and manage resources effectively. Advise on strategies that should be performed in house and which should be outsourced. Dealer & Supplier Relations Serve as a consistent, proactive point of contact for dealers and suppliers

  • regular check-in calls, not just reactive support.

Gather member feedback and industry insight to inform strategy and supplier negotiations. Represent NAFED at industry conferences, including supporting and co-presenting with the executive team. Support supplier contract negotiations, bringing member data and relationship context to the table. Training & Education Continue to build NAFED's training platform. Develop partnerships for training content, resources, and information. Help plan and program topics for live webinars. Membership, Events & Operations Support recruitment of new members. Assist with meeting and conference planning. Attend NAFED and industry meetings. Partner with dealers, NAFED staff, and key partners to keep operations running smoothly.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Measurable growth in member engagement and retention, and progress toward new-member recruitment goals. A marketing calendar and campaign cadence that keeps NAFED visible to members, prospects, and suppliers within budget. A growing, well-utilized training platform with regular webinar programming. Strong, trust-based relationships with dealers and suppliers are reflected in feedback and renewed engagement. Qualifications Required ( applies at both Manager and Director level ) Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or relationship/account management

  • candidates should bring real professional experience; this is not an entry-level role. Confident, personable communicator
  • comfortable representing NAFED by phone and in person with dealers, suppliers, and industry partners.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness and ability to travel for conferences and industry meetings. Relationship/Account Management experience Marketing Strategy and Campaign Management experience Preferred Experience in the food equipment industry or a related trade/distribution industry. Experience supporting contract or vendor negotiations. Familiarity with association, cooperative, or membership-based organizations.

Commensurate with experience and final title level.
