Job Description
Our Client, a Material Engineering company, is looking for a Materials
- Materials Planner
- Intermediate for their Austin, TX location.
Responsibilities:
Performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional job progression. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others. Key Responsibilities Review and understand internal metrics/KPI's and how daily tasks impact these metrics. Increases component availability at time of release by performing pre-shortage analysis. Support research and data requirements to assist in locating material. Follow and adhere to established business processes/practices. Under direction from management, prevents accumulation of excess material. Moves stock as required. In a manufacturing environment, may replenish empty line-side bins and/or regulate material movement to the manufacturing floor. Investigates customer inquiries, cycle count discrepancies and non-conformances, may perform transactions in Oracle, SAP, or other inventory systems. Assists in preparation of files for import/export documents and maintains necessary documents used for reporting production. Inventory Control
- Analyzes usage data and stock levels to order parts to satisfy service levels; maintains inventory levels per plan and expedites shortages; assists in setting up new inventory systems or modifying existing systems, when necessary; assigns appropriate expediting duties to expediters. Process Control
- May participate in identifying root cause and corrective action from PCI reporting and metrics, or in cycle counting.
Requirements:
Proficient at Microsoft Excel
Good communication Skills
This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.
Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a warehouse environment, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, reflective vests and hard hats may be required.
