ABOUT US
Okland is a commercial general contractor and construction management company with more than 1,500 team members, delivering complex projects across healthcare, semiconductor, higher education, sports, hospitality, and other specialized markets. Founded in 1918 in Salt Lake City, we have grown for more than a century and operate throughout Utah, Arizona, and Idaho. What Makes Okland Different? We Create Remarkable Experiences We believe how we build is just as important as what we build, and we approach every relationship with care. From clients and trade partners to team members and communities, we focus on creating experiences that earn trust. We Share Success Okland combines the stability of family ownership with employee ownership through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan. This unique structure provides the long-term perspective, and values-driven leadership that have guided our company for generations, while giving team members the opportunity to share the success they help create. We Build Better Together Our culture is rooted in accountability, humility, and excellence. We challenge the status quo, empower problem-solving, and trust our teams to take ownership and act. We learn from one another and work toward shared goals to deliver meaningful work with lasting impact. We invest in the next generation of construction talent through apprenticeships, internships, and scholarships for our communities. By expanding access for women, underrepresented groups, and families of our craft workforce who are first-generation college students, we strengthen the future of construction.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
The Product Manager - Employee Experience owns the strategy and evolution of Okland's company intranet and the connected systems that support how employees find information, stay informed, and get work done. Sitting on the People Team and partnering closely with Innovation, this role combines product management, UX, technology, content management, employee communications, and process improvement. A key priority will be reimagining our current intranet experience—understanding how work really happens, identifying what is not working, and driving a significantly better, more connected solution. While the role includes hands-on content creation and employee communications, the work is grounded in the user experience: keeping information current and trusted, making it easy to find, reducing noise and duplication, and enabling employees to do their best work.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
Own the day-to-day health of the intranet, including creating and updating content, managing ongoing needs, and ensuring information stays current, useful, and relevant. Lead the overall employee communications calendar, creating visibility and coordination across company-wide communications, key initiatives, events, and recurring messages. Partner with teams across the business to plan and sequence communications, reduce competing or duplicative messages, and ensure employees receive the right information at the right time. Create employee-facing content when needed and establish clear ownership, standards, and processes for content managed by others. Own information architecture, search, content strategy, governance, and document control to make information easier to find and trust.
YOU'RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
Bachelor's degree in Product Management, UX, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. Experience in product management, product ownership, UX, digital employee experience, or a closely related discipline. Strong understanding of user-centered design, user research, information architecture, and product discovery. Ability to partner effectively with technical teams and translate user needs into clear product and technical requirements. Working knowledge of systems, integrations, APIs, data flows, and software development processes; development expertise is not required. Experience with intranets, knowledge management, enterprise search, employee technology, or content management strongly preferred. Experience with process improvement, workflow design, or automation preferred. Construction or other field-based/operational experience is a plus.
WHAT WE OFFER
Culture & Recognition Consistently recognized as a Best Place to Work in Utah, Arizona, and Idaho. Pay, Ownership & Retirement Weekly pay, competitive salary and bonus incentives, ESOP employee ownership, and an industry-leading 401(k) with a 6% employer match. Benefits & Wellbeing Free healthcare plan option plus medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, paid parental leave, financial wellness tools, Employee Assistance Program, and mental health support. Perks & Projects Rewards including pro sports tickets, fitness memberships, travel vouchers, paid work anniversary sabbaticals, and award-winning projects recognized by AIA, ENR, and
AGC. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
