Job Description
Sr. Product Manager —
The Finance Transformation team is building a new generation of AI-native Finance platforms where intelligent agents surface insights in real time, documents process themselves, and financial decisions are powered by models that are accurate, auditable, and trusted at Apple scale. Central to this vision is payments: the lifeblood of global commerce. We're transforming how Apple's payment flows are orchestrated, reconciled, and optimized.
We're looking for a visionary Product Manager who sees AI not as a feature, but as a new operating model. Someone who can bridge the depth of Finance and the complexity of payments infrastructure with the ambition of cutting-edge machine intelligence, and ship products that set the standard for what enterprise AI can be.
Why this role is different. Most AI PM roles ask you to add intelligence to existing products. This role asks you to build the intelligence layer itself. You'll define how AI agents operate within Apple's Finance and Payments ecosystem: how they access live financial data, reason over complex payment policy, reconcile transactions at scale, generate audit-ready outputs, and earn the trust of a world-class Finance organization. This is foundational platform work with company-wide impact.
The role partners closely with internal Payments engineering from a product perspective and requires frequent collaboration with large groups of partners, both internal and potentially externally, including payment processors, banking partners, and regulatory stakeholders. Description Own Product Discovery & Strategy (Defining the "What")

Description Own Product Discovery & Strategy (Defining the "What")
- Partner with Finance and Payments leaders to uncover deep business pain points, not just surface requests, across payment initiation, settlement, reconciliation and operational payment processes.
- Conduct user research: interviews, workflow observation, and usage analytics across Payments Operations teams.
- Size and prioritize opportunities by business impact, user value, and strategic fit, including reduction in payment exceptions, settlement latency, and manual invoicing efforts.

- Translate business needs into precise user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics across both Finance AI and payments product surfaces.
- Define high-value AI use cases such as automated financial analysis, conversational policy assistance, real-time payment anomaly detection, and AI-driven reconciliation and exception management.
- Articulate system-level requirements for AI agents, including real-time data access to payment rails, audit trails, explainability, and integration with payment processors, banking APIs, and internal ERP systems.
- Define and document payment product requirements including support for multiple payment rails (ACH, wire, card, real-time payments), multi-currency settlement, and cross-border compliance.
- Drive sprint planning, scope management, and release strategy with Engineering across both AI platform and payments infrastructure work-streams.
- Operate at the center of the product-business-engineering triad, keepingFinance, Payments Operations, and Technology teams aligned.
- Challenge stakeholder requests to ensure the right problem is being solved first, distinguishing between payments process inefficiencies and true product gaps.
- Advocate for user needs while articulating clear trade-offs on scope, timeline, and quality, including regulatory and compliance constraints inherent to payments.
- Partner with Design & Data Science on UX quality, AI model requirements, and the design of payment intelligence dashboards and alerting systems.
- Define success metrics spanning adoption, satisfaction, business outcomes, and model performance, including payment straight-through processing rates, reconciliation accuracy, and exception reduction.
- Build continuous feedback loops that turn user signal into product improvements across both AI features and payments workflows.
- Uphold Apple's standards for privacy, security, and accessibility across all Finance and Payments products.
- Lead responsible AI practices: accuracy validation, bias detection, transparent user communication, and audit-ability of AI-assisted payment decisions. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of Product Management experience within Enterprise, FinTech, SaaS, or AI-focused organizations.
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field.
