Principal Technical Product Manager Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. Working with Customers and the External Ecosystem- Primary technical point of contact: represent Micron's Data Center SSD roadmap, architecture, and qualification plans directly to strategic hyperscale and OEM customer engineering and technical leadership.
- Requirements translation: lead the gathering and translation of customer specifications, RFIs/RFQs, and platform constraints into clear product requirements (MRDs) and engineering-actionable decisions.
- Industry and standards influence: represent Micron in ecosystem and standards forums (e.g., PCIe-SIG, OCP, JEDEC), building external credibility and shaping specifications relevant to Micron's product direction.
- Customer qualification and transition planning: coordinate engineering and qualification samples, qualification schedules, and escalation paths to keep customer platform timelines (EVT/DVT/PVT) on track.
- Relationship building: build durable, trust-based relationships with customer technical and program stakeholders, positioning Micron as a preferred long-term partner rather than a transactional supplier. Working Across Engineering, Sales, and Management
- Engineering alignment: align ASIC, firmware, and systems engineering teams around customer- and market-driven priorities, translating external requirements into technical tradeoff discussions and driving decisions when priorities conflict.
- Sales and segment partnership: partner with segment and sales leadership to shape account strategy, volume forecasts, and positioning, ensuring product plans reflect commercial priorities and commercial plans reflect technical reality.
- Executive communication: brief executive and cross-functional leadership on program status, risks, and strategic recommendations, serving as a clear, credible voice on complex technical and customer topics.
- Cross-functional coordination: work closely with NPI, Business Operations, and Technical Customer Management (TCM)/FAE teams to keep customer commitments, supply plans, and qualification milestones synchronized.
- Mentorship and scale: mentor other product managers and technical program managers, scaling technical depth and customer-engagement practices across the broader product management organization. Product & Technical Ownership
- Own end-to-end product requirements and technical strategy for one or more SSD product lines, from concept through qualification and volume ramp.
- Drive technical tradeoff decisions across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware, and system-level interfaces, balancing performance, cost, schedule, and customer commitments.
- Identify and pursue innovation opportunities — including invention disclosures, new architecture approaches, and process or tooling improvements — that scale impact beyond a single program.
- Leveraging AI to enchance work efficiency and effectiveness.
