Job Description
As the first dedicated PM at a global company accelerating its US growth, you will drive customer discovery, define requirements, and shape the roadmap for safety software protecting over a million people daily. CriticalArc CriticalArc is the company behind SafeZone®, the unified safety, security, and emergency management platform deployed across higher education, healthcare, enterprise, and critical infrastructure in more than 80 countries. SafeZone delivers real-time situational awareness, distributed command and control, mobile-first personal safety tools, and mass and targeted communications — allowing safety and security teams to provide "Safety Everywhere" for the people they protect. What You Will Do You will work directly with the CEO, who acts as product owner for SafeZone, and partner closely with the engineering organization in Australia to translate market signal into shipped product. Owning the day-to-day discipline of product management, including customer discovery, requirements definition, roadmap maintenance, and release readiness.
Responsibilities:
Conduct customer discovery with campus security, emergency management, healthcare IT, and higher education IT stakeholders to understand how they manage safety today and where SafeZone delivers more value Deliver PDRs, user stories, and requirements the Australian engineering team can build on Maintain the product backlog and roadmap in partnership with the CEO and head of engineering, surfacing trade-offs clearly Run release planning, beta programs, and feedback loops so that what ships actually lands with safety and emergency operations teams Help shape SafeZone's integration roadmap with adjacent IT, networking, identity, access control, video, and life-safety systems, a strategic priority for the next phase of the product Who You Are The ideal candidate is self-directed and thrives with broad scope and limited supervision. You move work forward asynchronously across time zones, across teams, and with customers you'll visit regularly in the field. Domain fluency in healthcare IT or higher education is important, you're comfortable in those environments and can engage credibly with the people who work in them. Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in product management or a product-adjacent role having owned requirements, worked closely with engineering, and shipped product end to end Direct exposure to US healthcare IT, higher education IT, or B2B security technology, healthcare IT strongly preferred Familiarity with clinical operations, campus security, EOCs, and the broader IT and life-safety ecosystem is a plus Strong PRD and requirements documentation skills; Jira/Atlassian experience expected Comfort with AI tools and the ability to speak specifically to how you use them, including artifacts to show for it Ability to have technical conversations with diverse stakeholders, from a hospital network architect to a backend developer Nice to have: Experience at a vertical SaaS or security/safety vendor in healthcare or higher education; background in solutions or sales engineering; exposure to incident response or emergency operations; familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, Clery Act, or NIST frameworks; UI/wireframing or prototyping skills Benefits Comprehensive healthcare benefits 401K plan with a 6% company match Hybrid flexibility (for CO-based employees) Phone reimbursement Paid holidays Commitment to ongoing professional development, including executive training programs, industry conferences, and professional networking opportunities CriticalArc is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture that celebrates innovation, teamwork, and personal growth.
