You will own key product areas within the BillGO payments ecosystem, working shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering teams to define, build, and ship capabilities that make payments simple for small businesses. This is a hands-on role. You will write requirements that engineers respect, use AI tools daily to accelerate your own work, and bring deep enough payments domain knowledge to make smart trade-offs without waiting for someone else to explain interchange economics or settlement flows. You report directly to the VP of Product and will play a central role in BillGO's next phase of growth. It bridges business strategy and technical execution, building trust with engineering through credible, decisive partnership while driving efficiency through AI-enabled workflows. By combining deep payments expertise with strong product leadership, this role influences high-impact decisions across customers, partners, and internal teams. Ultimately, its importance lies in delivering meaningful outcomes, owning initiatives and launches that create measurable business value and move the company forward. What You'll Do Product Strategy & Ownership Own the roadmap for assigned product areas, aligning with BillGO's strategic imperatives and the broader payments platform vision. Identify opportunities to expand the BGX network, grow partner payment volume, and improve the customer experience. Translate market signals, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence into prioritized product initiatives. Engineering Partnership & Technical Depth Work directly with engineering leads and developers in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical design discussions. Write clear, technically-informed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria that engineering teams can build from without ambiguity. Understand APIs, data flows, and system architecture well enough to evaluate trade-offs, unblock decisions, and participate meaningfully in technical reviews. Partner with QA and engineering on release planning, regression testing, and production monitoring. AI-Native Work Practices Use AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, automation platforms) as a daily force multiplier for research, analysis, content creation, data exploration, and prototyping. Champion AI adoption across BillGO's product and engineering teams—identifying use cases, sharing workflows, and raising the bar for what one PM can accomplish. Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities into BillGO products, including intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and agentic workflows. Payments Domain Execution Apply working knowledge of B2B payments, virtual card issuance, interchange economics, ACH processing, and payment network dynamics to everyday product decisions. Collaborate with compliance, risk, and operations teams to ensure products meet financial regulations, security standards, and partner requirements. Support go-to-market efforts with partner-facing materials, business case models, and technical documentation. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate across product, engineering, design, sales, and customer success to drive alignment and delivery. Communicate product strategy, progress, and trade-offs clearly to leadership and stakeholders. Contribute to quarterly OKR planning, capacity allocation, and roadmap prioritization. What You Bring Experience 7+ years in a Technical Product Manager or similar role, with demonstrated experience shipping software products in collaboration with engineering teams. Strong payments or fintech domain knowledge: B2B payments, card networks, ACH, real-time payments, payment processing, or related areas. Track record of working embedded with engineering—comfortable in sprint ceremonies, technical design sessions, and code review discussions. Demonstrated, active use of AI tools in professional workflows not theoretical interest, but daily practice. Experience with agile development methodologies and modern product management tooling (Jira, Confluence, or equivalent). Technical Skills Ability to read and write SQL for data exploration and analysis (not just requesting reports). Working understanding of APIs (REST, webhooks), cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and CI/CD concepts. Comfortable navigating codebases, reading technical documentation, and using developer tools. Proficiency with AI/LLM tools for productivity—prompt engineering, workflow automation, content generation, and data analysis. Skills & Mindset Strong written and verbal communication: able to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders and vice versa. Bias toward action and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. Analytical rigor—comfortable building business cases, running data analyses, and making evidence-based product decisions. Genuine curiosity about emerging technology, payments innovation, and how AI is reshaping product development. Bonus Points Experience with payment data reconciliation, interchange optimization, or sponsor bank / BIN management. Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, or modern data stack tools. Background in merchant acquiring, payment facilitation, or payment network partnerships. Experience building or evaluating AI/ML product features (fraud detection, intelligent routing, agentic automation).
