Ingersoll's US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a Product Manager. Essential job duties and Responsibilities include: 40% Technical support Support applications in the field, including onsite support, as needed. Provide email and telephone support for our sales team, our distributors and our end users, including technical product related issues. Provide technical support to the Proposal Engineers on a regular/daily basis. Be available to answer Tech Line calls as needed. Prepare test reports for both internal and external use. Identify our sales team as your customer. Building positive relationships with them is crucial to success. 25% Marketing Prepare and deliver presentations and participate in seminars as needed. Prepare product demonstrations in our Tech Center for live seminars and/or video. Prepare and participate in trade shows. Prepare and maintain tool displays. Develop product announcements. Populate items on our e-catalog. Suggest promotions and prepare data lists for items to be included. Work with Marketing Communications on printed literature, trade journal case stories, advertising recommendations, packaging, labeling, product appearance. 20% Administrative Logistics and inventory recommendations including dead stock reviews, new product preparations, stock code recommendations, min balance reviews & suggestions. Work with pricing team to answer questions about price positioning or any product-related pricing issues. Provide proposal team with technical info for products to be quoted. Provide support to inside sales as needed. Assist Quality department with complaints/warranties related to standard products. Provide some delivery support. Interact with the Distribution Center. 15% Product / Development Provide our suppliers with valuable feedback and market trends to determine what products are needed. We are the eyes and ears of the entire North American market for our overseas suppliers. It's partially up to us to decide what to offer and what not to offer. Provide market research and feedback. Conduct tech center tests. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, competitive threats (SWOT analysis). Conduct tests in our tech center to prove/disprove performance. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work well independently, as well as with others, in a team environment. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess a good work ethic, demonstrate reliable and punctual work habits, demonstrate safety consciousness, and always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
