- Accountable for system integration of projects in Production Development Projects using the Whirlpool Product Development System
- Accountable for scoping regional projects requests
- Accountable to ensure product development activities are completed on time, meeting cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans and execution
- Accountable for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project/product plan guardrails (target ranges) and PD budget
- Accountable to ensure technical design reviews for projects are completed as per the project plan(s) and according to WPD2.0 to provide a technical assessment project readiness, especially as an input to WPD2.0 gates and key events
- Accountable to drive full system validation through use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages
- Accountable to lead convergence of optimal system level interactions and interfaces within the project(s) using systems engineering principles
- Accountable for the engineering budget of project(s) and optimization of PD budget within the guardrails of the platform and the region
- Accountable to provide monthly engineering updates to support for commercial business team (CBT) and regional product development (PD) reviews
- Accountable for driving Product Leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development process, including the following:
- Ensure management and release of EBOMs based on project charter and architecture definition
- Ensure simulation of virtual prototypes and build of physical prototypes per V&V Plan or development phase tradeoff reviews
- Ensure documentation of total expected variation to +
- 3 sigma distribution for each attribute
- Ensure documentation of the revision of parts used in builds using baselines
- Ensure high contributing factors toward each function are designated as a Special Characteristic
- Ensure the measurement and documentation of the special characteristics on physical prototypes
- Ensure closure of dFMEA action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, based on Concept and Design Validation data and functional performance stacks
- Ensure the project(s) product development is done concurrently with manufacturing to ensure product and process capabilities will deliver flawless launch of final manufactured products ## Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering or Technical Design ## Preferred skills and experiences
- 5+ years of product development experience with experience executing PDP projects using WPD process
- Six Sigma Trained
- SE proficiency level 3
- Technical project management
- Self-motivation and ability to drive things independently
- Cross-functional collaboration and ability to influence others
- Collaborative spirit that enables fast, iterative problem solving
- Sense of urgency with capability to work under pressure, sometimes with competing priorities
