Job Description
The Senior Director, Product Line Management (PLM) is responsible for leading the global Product Line Management function for CommScope's Building & Campus business. This leadership role owns the commercial success, lifecycle management, portfolio optimization, and profitability of the Building & Campus product portfolio across copper and fiber connectivity solutions. The Senior Director will lead a team of product line managers and work closely with Research & Development, Operations, Sales, Finance, Customer Experience, and Regional Commercial teams to ensure product investment decisions, portfolio priorities, and roadmap execution align with business objectives and customer requirements. This role focuses exclusively on Product Line Management responsibilities and does not include direct ownership of corporate strategy or marketing functions. Duties & Responsibilities Lead the global Product Line Management organization for the Building & Campus business. Establish portfolio priorities and product lifecycle management processes to maximize growth, profitability, and return on investment. Own revenue, gross margin, market share, and profitability performance for assigned product portfolios. Develop and execute product roadmap plans in partnership with Engineering, Operations, and Commercial leadership teams. Drive portfolio optimization activities, including product introduction, enhancement, rationalization, and end-of-life decisions. Identify market opportunities through customer engagement, industry trends, competitive analysis, and sales collaboration. Partner with R&D to prioritize investments and ensure delivery of products that meet customer and business requirements. Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to support product availability, cost optimization, and manufacturing efficiency initiatives. Provide commercial guidance regarding product positioning, pricing strategies, business cases, and investment prioritization. Lead portfolio reviews, business performance analysis, and executive reporting for Building & Campus leadership. Support major customer engagements, strategic bids, and product-related escalations as needed. Build and develop a high-performing global PLM organization focused on accountability, customer orientation, and business results. Champion PRIME program principles, best practices, and process standardization across the organization. Ensure compliance with applicable CommScope policies, procedures, and governance requirements. Required Qualifications for Consideration Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Product Management, or a related discipline. 12+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, Product Line Management, Engineering, or a related commercial leadership role. 7+ years of experience leading managers and/or global teams. Demonstrated experience managing complex product portfolios with direct revenue and profitability accountability. Experience working within a manufacturing, connectivity, telecommunications, networking, electrical infrastructure, or related technology environment. Strong financial acumen, including business case development, portfolio analysis, pricing, and margin management. Experience leading cross-functional teams in a global organization. Excellent communication, executive presentation, and leadership skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline. Experience leading Product Line Management within structured portfolio management frameworks. Knowledge of enterprise connectivity, data center infrastructure, fiber connectivity, copper connectivity, or structured cabling markets. Experience managing large global product portfolios with significant annual revenue responsibility. Demonstrated success leading organizational transformation, portfolio optimization, and product lifecycle management initiatives.
