Job Description

Medium UPS Product Manager The Product Manager will lead the identification, development, and commercialization of new and adjacent market opportunities beyond Vertiv's core IT infrastructure segment, with a focus on 3-phase UPS and critical power solutions. This role is responsible for identifying and translating emerging market needs and customer insights into clear product strategies and defined requirements, enabling Vertiv to expand into new verticals and application spaces. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking, technical understanding, and strong business acumen to drive product innovation and long-term growth. Working cross-functionally with global and regional teams, the Product Manager will provide direction to product roadmaps, develop business cases, and guide new product development from concept through launch. This role also represents Vertiv externally through direct customer engagement and industry participation. Key Responsibilities Voice of Customer & Market Insight Engage directly with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to validate opportunities and refine product direction Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform strategy Identify and Develop New Markets Identify, evaluate, and prioritize growth opportunities in emerging and adjacent markets beyond traditional data center segments Develop market entry strategies, including segmentation, positioning, and value propositions External Representation Represent Vertiv at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows Build relationships with key customers and partners in target markets Business Case & Financial Ownership Develop and own global business cases, including market sizing, pricing strategy, and financial modeling Support regional teams and global product family owners with pricing and positioning to maximize growth and profitability Define Product Strategy & Requirements Translate market insights into clear product requirements and specifications Define product positioning, differentiation, and roadmap priorities aligned to growth segments Lead New Product Development SRS Creation Drive early-stage product definition, business case development, and investment justification Partner with Engineering, Product line owners and cross-functional teams to define and deliver products aligned with market needs Go-to-Market Leadership Define and support global go-to-market plans for new products and solutions Enable internal and external sales teams through training, messaging, and product positioning Cross-Functional Leadership Lead and influence cross-functional teams across Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing Drive alignment across global and regional stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred 10+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or business development Customer-focused, with experience engaging directly with customers and industry partners Background in critical power, data center infrastructure, or related technical domains preferred Ability to translate market insights into product strategy and requirements Strong financial and analytical skills, including market sizing, pricing, and ROI modeling Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders in a global environment Experience in planning and execution of launching products in new or adjacent markets Excellent communication and presentation skills Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
