About the Role We are looking for a highly creative, organized, and detail-oriented Apparel Product Developer to join our team in North San Antonio. This is a hands-on product development role focused primarily on private-label apparel, graphic sweatshirts/t-shirts and related apparel products. The ideal candidate has experience in both apparel design and graphic design with the technical skills needed to take a product from initial concept through production. You will be involved throughout the entire product development process—from researching trends and developing concepts to creating artwork, building tech packs and spec sheets, reviewing samples, communicating with customers and factories and preparing final production documentation. The ideal candidate enjoys both the creative and technical sides of apparel development and takes ownership of a product from the initial idea through final production. What You'll Do Research apparel, graphic, color, and fashion trends to help develop new products and collections Develop private-label apparel concepts from initial idea through production Create original apparel graphics, prints, embellishments, and production-ready artwork Create and maintain detailed tech packs, spec sheets, and other product-development documentation Review samples and finished products for fit, graphics, color, construction, quality and adherence to specifications Communicate product specifications, revisions, approvals and development updates with customers, factories and vendors Create product presentations and line sheets Manage multiple product-development projects while tracking revisions, samples, approvals and deadlines Compile and maintain accurate production documents and product information What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a designer who also understands the technical and operational side of product development. You should be comfortable taking a general product idea and turning it into a detailed, production-ready package that a factory can understand and execute. You should be creative and visually driven while also being highly organized, technically precise, and comfortable managing the many details involved in bringing apparel products to market. Required Qualifications Experience in apparel design, apparel product development, graphic design, or a related field Significant experience using Adobe Illustrator to create and prepare production-ready apparel artwork Experience creating or working with tech packs and spec sheets Understanding of apparel graphics, color, placement, and print/embellishment techniques Excellent written and email communication skills Strong organizational, time-management and project-management skills Exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept through completion Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve product-development issues Professional and effective communication with customers, vendors, and factories Proficiency with Canva, Dropbox, Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs and Sheets) Preferred Qualifications Experience with private-label apparel, merch apparel or licensed apparel Experience working directly with overseas apparel manufacturers Experience developing graphic sweatshirts, t-shirts, and other graphic-driven apparel Experience reviewing physical samples and providing fit, construction, and product feedback Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop Experience creating product presentations and customer-facing visual materials This role does not include patternmaking, garment engineering or advanced apparel CAD work. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is primarily a computer and desk-based position, but it also involves hands-on product development and physical handling of samples, apparel, boxes, and materials. This is a hybrid position, the in-office time is for collaborative design and development, reviewing samples and working with physical products and materials. Other work may be completed remotely from home.
