Summary A position as a Communication Systems Product Manager for Combat Aircraft has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Madrid. The mission of this position is to Lead the overall design, development and qualification/certification of the Communications System (HW and SW) to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements as well as programme cost and schedule needs. The jobholder is responsible for the delivery of the complete Communications System in a given Program, focusing on the technical aspects of the engineering deliverables, schedule, cost, quality and risk management up to final customer acceptance. The Communications System encompasses the HW and SW elements of the Audio Management System, the Radios and all the different Tactical and Mission Datalinks, including SATCOM. Tasks & accountabilities The tasks are the following:Input:
Customer needs/requirements, program constraints, regulatory/qualification requirements, technology readiness, engineering capability and capacity.
Output:
All technical decisions necessary for an efficient development and testing, on time delivery and customer acceptance for their operations. A specific focus on leadership is required for an operational management of the multifunctional teams and for the liaison with the Chief Engineering Office, Program Office and Customer. The roleholder will have to manage development, qualification and certification of the Communications System of Combat Aircraft from the offer phase to contract signature. This includes all the development lifecycle of the product up to the clearance for flight. Requirements- Educated in an Aeronautical, Telecommunications or other Engineering degree or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in an Engineering related field.
- Avionics (and Communications in particular) HW and SW integration experience will be specially valued.
