Full Job Description Materials Developer Location:
Coppell, TX (Hybrid-Tuesday-Thursday)
Department:
Design & Product Development Are you passionate about fabrics, color accuracy, and bringing materials to life from concept to production? We're looking for a hands-on Materials Developer to support fabric development across our Wink®, Carhartt®, and Fashion Seal® brands. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the execution side of material development—owning lab dips, evaluating color, managing testing submissions, and working directly with mills to drive timelines and approvals. What You'll Do Execute the end-to-end fabric development process—from sourcing and lab dip evaluation to testing and final approval Own lab dip management , color matching, and maintain our material and color standard library Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, and Quality to meet brand, performance, cost, and timeline expectations Communicate daily with mills and vendors to request samples, troubleshoot issues, and track development progress Prepare, cut, and organize sample yardage and fabric submissions for testing and development needs Learn the collections, understand brand differences, and ensure consistency across fabrics and colors Stay informed on fabric trends, performance finishes, sustainable innovations, and industry developments Who You Are A doer who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Confident making decisions independently, while knowing when to ask for a second opinion Highly organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple fabric developments at once Strong eye for detail, especially in color evaluation and lab dip approvals A natural problem-solver who is resourceful and solution-oriented What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel Product Development, Fashion Design, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in materials, textile, or product development Backgrounds in performance apparel, scrubs, athleticwear, or workwear are highly valued Experience communicating with mills and vendors; comfortable managing development timelines Basic understanding of textile testing standards (familiarity with ATCC tests is a plus) Experience with lab dips/color approvals strongly preferred
