Duties:
Strategy:
Works with Product Vice President to develop and maintain the Company's view on near and long-term global market dynamics. Supports development and implementation of short-term and long-term global product and pricing strategy. Communicates marketing and pricing positions for the various market channels, partners with Supply Chain to coordinate product availability, sales distribution plans, and ways to reduce costs or improve overall profitability. Works with the supply chain team and other functions to determine product tradeoff decisions. Participates in new project development and generates ideas for market expansions, cost savings or additional profit streams.
Pricing:
Collects, interprets, and communicates relevant market intelligence gathered from the Sales team, Supply Chain, customers, plants, periodicals, etc. Summarizes and communicates current market conditions and short-term market strategies at weekly pricing meetings. Coordinates Published, Guideline and Internal Reference (floor) prices in accordance with CF's Pricing Policy and Procedures while recommending changes to the Internal Reference prices.
Sales:
Works closely with the sales team to support them when assistance is needed with responding to customer sales inquiries; initiating, negotiating and finalizing agreements with customers and working with attorneys to develop contracts. Supports the annual Sales Plan by providing material, market segment, sold to, plant, shipping type, etc. Coordinates and recommends short-term (monthly) changes to the Sales Plan to ensure CF maximizes sales opportunities and provides Supply Chain with updates of the Sales Plan as material changes occur. Monitors sales activities and commitments to the Sales Plan to proactively develop and implement alternative sales opportunities when either the customer or CF can find more profitable business for available tons. Assists Sales Representatives in resolving complex customer problems, ensuring the equitable treatment of all customers. Works with Sales and Customer Support to ensure that customer issues are appropriately resolved in a timely manner and within established policy and authority guidelines. Provides feedback to the Sales Representatives ensuring the development of sales skills necessary to be successful in the role within the product sales function.
Company Representation:
Promotes the development of strong trust-based relationships between department members and other CF departments through a high degree of communication across all levels of management and serves as backup to Vice President, Product Management. Represents CF at international, national and state-level trade association meetings when necessary. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Management or a related field plus 3 years of experience in related occupations. Requires 3 years of experience with the following: (1) Developing, managing and negotiating custom commercially led contractual agreements including the production, application and management of pricing schedules; commercial incentive programs; liquidated damages; force majeure clauses / events; limitations of liability and performance management (KPI's); (2) Analyzing the effectiveness of existing storage locations for continued use versus open market opportunities; considering TCO, market penetration, business growth, strategic alignment, risk management and contingency planning; (3) Working in an agricultural field building an understanding of agricultural industry and related logistics; (4) Raw material storage and logistics: Ensuring the projected order book mirrors inventories; maximizing potential revenues; and correctly identifying the most effective point of sale and mode of loading for the business; (5) Application and systems: Excel, Salesforce, and Tableau. Telecommuting is permitted. 40 hours/week, $137,550 - $157,550 per year.
