The Director, Product Management will possess the ability to balance Strategic vision and tactical execution. This role is responsible for overseeing, supporting, and implementing product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with operations, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. is responsible for supporting operational execution, cross-functional coordination, and product-related deliverables to ensure alignment with company objectives, revenue goals, and customer satisfaction expectations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This is not an all inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified/changed/added/deleted as needed. Define strategic goals and plans for Product Management and the products that are developed to ensure fit within the company objectives.
Collaborate cross-functionally to define and implement PM processes and procedures that support the business in an efficient manner
Guide, lead, and develop the PM on technical activities as well as individual professional development plans
Define, deploy, and monitor PM team KPIs
Possess strong communication skills.
Guide and enable efficient product development through all phases including launch and marketing
Develop portfolio plans to maximize revenue, sales, and customer base in critical product lines.
Discover, understand, and clearly communicate customer and market dynamics to enable management understanding of customer/ user needs.
Develop business case and portfolio plans for the next generation of current products as well as new products.
Identify issues from the field, and develop sources of competitive intelligence to facilitate product development.
Interface with key customers and stakeholders to develop relationships for future collaborations and strategic needs.
Attend industry tradeshows to gain understanding of the market trends and latest research to allow for proactive product strategies.
Develop materials to present the value proposition for individual markets, both domestic and international.
Develop and cultivate professional relationships with key product suppliers for the purpose of enhancing product promotion.
Manage Intellectual Property portfolio with Legal and Marketing teams. AUTHORITY /ACCOUNTABILITY
Ensure product compliance in all areas including legal, regulatory, and marketing.
Manage product development, launch, and sustainment across the entire portfolio lifecycle.
Research, analyze and consolidate information to construct a product business plan to complete all product files.
Provide appropriate products to be evaluated by external users to enhance performance.
Identify and communicate quality criteria for products to be included in the product file and made available to Procurement for purchase.
Ensure all media, including literature, marketing material and website are up to date with most current product information and have matching descriptions. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Bioengineering preferred). Will also consider Business, Life Science or similar. Master's degree or MBA a plus.
A minimum of 5 years of product portfolio management is required.
Experience with at least three significant product launches is preferred as well as experience bringing new product lines to market.
Ability to manage a cross-functional team in a non-structured environment.
Experience in intellectual property portfolio management is a plus.
Knowledge of product development within an acute or tactical care setting is a plus.
Strong written, speaking and presentation skills, demonstrated by prior accomplishments and examples.
Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office products - Excel, PowerPoint, Word. MS Project is a plus.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
