About the Role As a Senior Manager, Product Management, you will lead Appian's AI & Industry Solutions product portfolio, driving product strategy, customer impact, and the growth of a high-performing team of Product Managers. You will define the long-term vision for solutions spanning AI adoption and key industry markets while partnering closely with Engineering, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative capabilities that solve complex business challenges. This role combines strategic product leadership with people management, giving you the opportunity to influence Appian's product direction while mentoring the next generation of product leaders. What You'll Do Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Appian's AI & Industry Solutions portfolio.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Partner closely with Engineering and Quality leadership to align product strategy with technical execution and quarterly planning.
Drive portfolio investment decisions by balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical considerations.
Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to identify market opportunities, validate product direction, and prioritize features.
Guide Product Managers through the full product lifecycle, from discovery and roadmap planning through launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
Work closely with engineers and designers to define product experiences through design reviews, technical discussions, and usability testing.
Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging AI technologies to identify new opportunities for innovation.
Ensure alignment across multiple product teams while delivering measurable business impact and customer value. Basic Qualifications 8+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 3 years leading Product Managers.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong technical foundation with the ability to partner effectively with Engineering and Design teams.
Experience defining product strategy and leading complex enterprise software portfolios.
Demonstrated success building customer-centric products within enterprise SaaS or business process automation platforms.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications Deep understanding of the business process automation, workflow, or enterprise application platform market.
Experience leading AI-driven products, automation platforms, or industry-specific software solutions.
Passion for solving customer problems through innovative technology.
Experience managing cross-functional product roadmaps across multiple engineering teams.
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term vision and day-to-day execution.
Curiosity about emerging technologies, particularly AI, and their application within large enterprises.
Proven ability to mentor and develop high-performing product management teams. #LI-MB1 The base salary range represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant work experience, qualifications, internal peer equity, and market and business conditions that exist when extending an offer. A discretionary bonus may be awarded in recognition of individual and company performance. Certain positions may be eligible for equity awards. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation, commission, bonus, or benefit plans. Base Salary Range
$150,000 — $325,000
