Job Description

SUMMARY The Product Development Manager leads the design, build, and implementation of all resort products within the resort's POS and e-commerce systems to ensure a seamless, intuitive, and guest-centered experience from booking through departure. This role connects operations, technology, and guest service—ensuring that every product across the resort is thoughtfully developed, accurately configured, easy to purchase, and flawlessly executed. Working collaboratively with departments including Mountain Sports School, Retail, Rentals, Summer Activities, Lift Tickets & Passes, Transportation, Camping, and Lodging, this position ensures products are fully integrated, revenue-optimized, and aligned with the overall guest journey. A key component of the role is partnering with Lodging to integrate booking platforms and create effortless bundled experiences that allow guests to plan their entire stay in one smooth transaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champion a guest-first approach in the development and configuration of all resort products.
  • Design and implement products that are clear, convenient, and simple to purchase across online, POS, and call center platforms.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the guest journey through bundled packages, streamlined booking flows, and improved digital pathways.
  • Ensure partner program integrations (e.g., Mountain Collective and other affiliated programs) are accurate, efficient, and easy for guests to navigate.
  • Proactively recommend product enhancements and new offerings that elevate the overall resort experience. Product Development & System Implementation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resort-wide product setup within POS and e-commerce systems.
  • Manage annual product rollovers, updates, pricing changes, and system enhancements.
  • Lead the product development lifecycle from concept and pricing structure to system build, testing, and launch.
  • Facilitate cross-department collaboration during product sheet development and approval processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in product configuration, pricing, tax setup, fulfillment procedures, and reporting.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Lodging and Reservations to integrate lodging and activity products for seamless bundled booking. Systems Support & Operational Excellence
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts across departments and manage software support ticket submission and resolution.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of data within POS and reporting systems.
  • Produce weekly and ad hoc sales reporting.
  • Provide revenue data and documentation to the Director of Finance as required.
  • Oversee fulfillment processes for comped tickets, passes, and vouchers to ensure accurate tracking and positive guest outcomes. Training, Leadership & Collaboration
  • Train and support resort staff in the effective use of POS and e-commerce systems to ensure confident, consistent guest service.
  • Supervise, train and support product development coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Brand, Strategy & Guest Experience to align product strategy with sales goals and promotional initiatives.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of all resort programs and procedures to ensure operational alignment.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with employees, partners, and guests at all levels. Compliance & Administration
  • Ensure responsibilities are executed in compliance with resort policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized documentation of product builds, processes, and system workflows.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to support seasonal operations and cross-department initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests always. 2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay. 3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor. 4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals. 5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others. 6. Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with RTP, Aspenware, Axess, Inntopica, Versa or similar hospitality POS and e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Prior experience in product development, systems implementation, and revenue reporting within a hospitality or resort environment.
  • Experience supervising or leading team members preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of guest service standards and resort operations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, mean, median, minimum, maximum, percent, and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
