$75,000 to $90,000 commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications. Benefits available in accordance with parish and diocesan policies. Position Summary Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church seeks a creative, organized, and mission-driven Director of Communications & Digital Media to lead and manage all parish communications efforts across print, digital, social media, video, email, and web platforms. This position is responsible for promoting the mission, ministries, liturgical life, events, stewardship initiatives, and community engagement of the parish through professional and compelling communications. The Director of Communications & Digital Media will oversee parish branding, social media strategy, multimedia production, website management, digital engagement, and weekly parish communications. Another aspect of this roll would be administrative assistant to the pastor. This would include, scheduling for the pastor, screening calls, emails and other administrative tasks as necessary for the pastor. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, creative storyteller, skilled multimedia producer, and collaborative team member with a passion for parish life and Catholic evangelization. Mission Statement Because all employees of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church represent the Roman Catholic Church, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the mission, teachings, goals, and values of the Catholic Church. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Parish Communications Create, edit, and publish the weekly parish bulletin. Prepare and distribute weekly parish email blasts and newsletters. Write parish announcements, ministry updates, event promotions, and other communications materials. Develop and maintain a comprehensive parish communications calendar. Ensure consistency in parish branding, messaging, and visual identity across all communication platforms. Coordinate communication requests with parish staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, and diocesan offices as needed. Social Media Management Manage and maintain all parish social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and additional digital channels as needed. Create engaging and faith-centered social media content including graphics, photography, short-form videos, reels, and promotional campaigns. Maintain a regular and strategic social media posting schedule. Monitor social media activity and respond professionally to comments, messages, and inquiries. Promote parish Masses, liturgies, sacramental celebrations, retreats, stewardship initiatives, outreach programs, and parish events. Track social media engagement and recommend strategies to improve digital outreach and parish engagement. Video Production & Multimedia Coordinate, record, edit, and publish the weekly video message from the Pastor. Capture, edit, and produce photo and video content for parish communications and social media. Create short-form and long-form video content optimized for digital platforms and social media. Upload and manage video content across YouTube and other digital platforms. Assist with livestreaming Masses, parish events, and special liturgical celebrations as needed. Operate cameras, microphones, lighting, livestream, and multimedia equipment. Maintain organized digital archives of parish photography, videos, graphics, and multimedia assets. Website & Digital Communications Maintain and regularly update the parish website with current ministry information, calendars, announcements, and event registrations. Ensure website and digital communications are accurate, timely, visually appealing, and user-friendly. Execute parish email marketing campaigns and monitor engagement analytics. Assist in improving parish visibility and communication effectiveness through strategic digital outreach. Event Promotion & Parish Engagement Promote parish programs, liturgical celebrations, retreats, service opportunities, fundraising campaigns, and special events. Collaborate with parish ministries, organizations, school personnel, and volunteers to support communication needs. Support parish engagement and evangelization through storytelling, photography, video, and digital outreach initiatives. Administrative Responsibilities Coordinate with bulletin publishers, printers, photographers, videographers, and outside vendors as needed. Track communication performance metrics including email engagement, website traffic, and social media analytics. Ensure all parish communications reflect Catholic values and the mission of the parish. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in all communications and parish matters. Perform other duties as assigned in support of parish operations and ministry needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, journalism, multimedia, public relations, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in communications, social media management, multimedia production, marketing, or related field preferred. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills. Experience in social media management, copywriting, video production, and digital communications. Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, social media management tools, and email marketing platforms preferred. Familiarity with website content management systems and livestream platforms preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced parish environment. Practicing Catholic or familiarity with Catholic teachings, liturgy, and parish life preferred. Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church. Preferred Qualifications Church, diocesan, school, or nonprofit communications experience. Photography, videography, and graphic design experience. Experience with livestream production and audiovisual equipment. Familiarity with Catholic liturgical seasons, feast days, and parish operations. Schedule flexibility required during major liturgical seasons and parish events. Some local travel may be required for meetings, trainings, or parish-related events. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout parish facilities and event spaces. Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate multimedia, video, livestream, and office equipment. Visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through digital platforms.
