Job Description

About us: We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that aids veterans in need of professional attire and career path! The organization has been growing rapidly in recent years. We have partnered with the top companies in the nation. We have impacted the community by helping thousands of veterans.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for business-minded interns who are looking to learn and can help develop our organization during the fall semester! Candidates must be business-oriented and creative thinkers. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and willing to learn. We are looking for a hard worker with a great attitude. You will have the opportunity to be part of a grassroots, fast-growing organization! This internship offers valuable real-life experience!
What you will learn:
The social media intern will learn how to use social media to promote a business and business functions. They will learn community outreach via social media as well as promoting ecommerce via social media outlets. Interns will use various popular social media sites such as facebook, Instagram, twitter, linkedin, tiktok and others. The social media intern will also learn other promotional strategies such as press releases, email promotional campaigns and communications with news outlets. Social media interns must be creative thinkers and able to execute creative strategies. They must be comfortable communicating with people of different backgrounds. The intern must be coachable, able to take direction and be able to work independently and self-motivate. The social media intern will also learn other business functions. This role requires the intern to be on camera in pre-filmed and live video.
Duration:
The internship has a rolling start date in September with a target start date of Monday, September 21st (Interns can start earlier if available). The program ends in the first week of December before finals. The required hours are 10-15 hours per week. You choose your own schedule, we are open Monday-Friday 10-5PM.
Location:
This internship will take place in our Bethel, CT office. This is NOT a remote internship, applicants must be able to commute to our Bethel, CT office.
COVID:
We are observing all state regulations. We are currently operating with limited teams. Some perks of interning with us:
  • We will sign the necessary paperwork from your university for college credit.
  • This is NOT an employment position, it is an internship.
  • Letter of recommendation can be requested after completing of the program.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be currently enrolled in a College or University (part-time or full-time)
  • Sophomore to Senior standing encouraged but not a must.
  • Must have strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written Skills
  • Must be able to use Microsoft office including word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must be able to do basic designs for promotional materials
  • Friendly and outgoing
  • Must be available 10-15 hours per week.
  • Must be able to work independently and self motivate
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must have transportation
