Full-Time | Port St. Lucie, FL | On-site with local travel Tell Our Animals' Stories to the World The Humane Society of St. Lucie County is looking for a Digital Media Specialist to bring our mission to life online. You'll manage our social media, email marketing, website content, and creative design, turning everyday shelter moments into content that drives adoptions, donations, and community support. You'll report to the Director of Development and work closely with our Event Coordinator, shelter staff, and volunteers to keep our brand consistent and our storytelling compelling across every platform. What You'll Do Run our social media: develop, schedule, publish, and monitor content that grows community awareness, donor engagement, volunteer recruitment, and pet adoptions Own email marketing: design and distribute newsletters, fundraising appeals, and event promotions, and manage our email database and campaign analytics Keep our brand consistent: design brochures, sponsorship packets, flyers, signage, and promotional materials across every touchpoint Manage our digital presence: keep website content accurate, engaging, and on-brand Tell our stories: photograph and film animals, adoptions, events, volunteers, and donors, and write the stories behind them Support our events: create sponsorship materials, signage, and promotional content before, during, and after fundraising events
Promote Home-to-Home:
help drive our pet rehoming program through digital marketing and online pet profiles What You Bring Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and creativity Experience creating and managing digital marketing campaigns: social media, email marketing, graphic design, photography, videography, and website content Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (or similar), Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, WordPress, email marketing platforms, and basic photo/video editing tools Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines while keeping branding and messaging consistent Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience) Nonprofit experience a plus A genuine advocate for animal welfare Fluent English required Why You'll Love It Here Your work directly drives adoptions and donations, you'll see the real-world impact of every post Creative variety: photography, video, design, copywriting, and strategy all in one role Hands-on time with shelter animals as part of the job Be part of a small, mission-driven team where your voice shapes how the community sees us A Few Practical Notes This is primarily an office-based role with regular hands-on interaction with shelter animals while photographing and filming, plus occasional travel to community events.
