Join the Public Information & Social Media Team at Palm Beach County's largest Fire Rescue Department. We are seeking a creative, organized, and motivated individual passionate about storytelling, digital media, and community engagement. Do You Enjoy… Creating and editing short-form videos for social media and online platforms? Writing engaging social media content and developing audience growth strategies? Designing graphics and visual content? Capturing impactful photography and imagery? Sharing stories about people, events, and public service? Assisting with large-scale events and community initiatives? Working collaboratively with strong organizational and time management skills? Gaining valuable experience in the evolving fire & medical emergency services industry, working an average of 20 hours per week? This Position Will Include… Creating content for social media, graphics, publications, events, and website platforms Producing graphics for social media, fire station electronic communication boards, print materials, and messaging campaigns Filming, editing, and publishing short-form video content Monitoring social media engagement and collecting analytics data Assisting with Fire Rescue events and community outreach initiatives Collecting and archiving photos, videos, media coverage, and digital content for reports, publications, and departmental archives Assisting with updates to websites, YouTube channels, and communication platforms under the direction of the Public Information Office (PIO) Supporting daily operations, including scheduling, project coordination, reporting, publications, and records management Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about digital storytelling, public service, and community engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: A Bachelor's Degree in Public Affairs, Communications, Advertisement/Marketing, Social Media, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of experience in public relations work, OR An unrelated Bachelor's Degree OR an Associate's Degree in Public Affairs, Communications, Advertisement/Marketing, Social Media, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; minimum of five (5) years of experience in public relations work, OR An unrelated Associate's Degree; minimum of six (6) years of experience in public relations work, OR Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of (7) years of experience in public relations work.
