Job Description
Position Overview Columbus Botanical Garden is seeking a creative, enthusiastic Social Media Intern to help share the beauty, events, programs, and stories of the Garden with our community. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who loves social media, storytelling, photography, and connecting people with meaningful experiences. Responsibilities Create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok Capture photos and short-form video/Reels throughout the Garden and at special events. Assist with planning and maintaining a social media content calendar. Write engaging captions that reflect the Garden's voice and mission. Highlight seasonal plants, flowers, wildlife, exhibits, events, programs, and educational opportunities. Help develop creative social media campaigns and trends that increase engagement and reach. Monitor comments, messages, and audience engagement. Collaborate with Garden staff to gather stories and content from across the organization. Assist with special events and promotional campaigns as needed. Qualifications Experience with social media platforms. Strong writing and communication skills. Creative eye and an ability to tell a story through photos and video. Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Canva. Comfortable taking photos and videos with a smartphone. Organized, dependable, and able to work independently. Passion for plants, gardens, nature, education, community, or the arts is a plus.
