Office of Economic Revitalization Position:
Digital Media Specialist (Asst. Information Specialist II)Organization Description:
The City and County of Honolulu ("City") Office of Economic Revitalization (OER) was established to drive the City's economic development strategy. Our team works with partners to create an economy for Oʻahu that is more resilient, diverse, equitable, and filled with good jobs that care for our people and our place. OER provides information and opportunities for small business owners, job-seekers, farmers, innovators, communitybased organizations, and everyone else who is doing their part to improve the quality of life on Oʻahu. Duties and responsibilities : The key responsibility of this position is to create and implement OER's digital media strategy and website. Manage and update the OER digital media strategy, social media, and website (www.revitalizeoahu.org) with engaging content. (70%) Review digital marketing plan and social media strategy and identify strategic strengths and weaknesses; make recommendations for increasing reach and useful content. Researches social media trends and informs the Communications Manager and OER staff of changes that are relevant to OER communication and outreach activities. o Sets key performance indicators (KPIs) for website engagement, such as targets for genuine engagement and audience growth; measures OER digital strategy performance against the KPIs. o Sets key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media outreach, such as targets for engagement and audience growth; measures OER social media strategy performance against the KPIs. Creates social media campaigns across channels, monitoring trends and hashtags, reporting on analytics, interacting with constituents on social media, and liaising with stakeholders. Shoot and edit photos and videos for collateral, social media, and website. Manages the Zoom-Facebook integration for OER's online content. Maintains visual consistency across all digital and social media channels using the OER and O'ahu Business Connector style guide. Maintains communication with appropriate parties within the administration and OER stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, veracity, and timeliness of digital outreach. Adds new content and pages to the OER website. Designs collateral for all OER programs and outreach, based on OER & O'ahu Business Connector brand standards. (20%) Work with City Departments, Federal, State, and County Governments, nonprofits, and communities to refine and update social media strategy and content. (5%) Performs other related duties as may be assigned to ensure efficient operations of the City OER. (5%)Qualifications:
Training and Experience:
Knowledge of popular social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms. Ability to analyze social media analytics via Meta Business Suite and adapt to current trends and target audiences. Photography and Videography skills. Experience with graphic design. Computer, internet, web-based program management platforms including Google, Squarespace, and Canva, and smartphones. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Premiere Rush, etc. Experience navigating complex relationships with stakeholders as well as community members; patience and empathy when dealing with colleagues, contractors, nonprofits, and community-based groups that may be experiencing challenging situations: o Can effectively work in a diverse team. o Able to be creative and resourceful to remove obstacles and accomplish tasks. o Understand strategic goals and concepts and also be meticulous and thorough with the details. o Collaborates across disciplines to get and give feedback, and share knowledge with team members and stakeholders. Well-organized and able to effectively manage multiple assignments and competing priorities for self and staff. Self-motivated and accountable for work time and other office resources. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to understand and interpret laws, rules, and regulations; make sound observations, remember facts, and give recommendations based thereon. Communicate effectively with the public and representatives of other government agencies.Desired Qualifications:
Experience in media content and webinar development. Existing professional or community relationships. Entrepreneurial mindset in developing programs and processes for the team. An understanding of the specific trends and qualities of social media within Hawai'i.License requirement:
Have a valid Hawai'i State driver's license.Physical requirement:

The salary range is $61,596 to $91,236 a year, based on experience.Employment duration:
