Standard Internship $ Paid $10.00/hr Part Time Description The Normies is an entertainment and digital media organization that creates video content for online audiences that live on Youtube. We have been running this company for 11 years. Our Social Media Content Internship is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone interested in social media, digital content creation, video production, and entertainment marketing. The learner will apply their existing skills to real projects while receiving guidance from experienced members of The Normies' studio team. The learner will work with a designated studio supervisor who will provide direction, answer questions, review ideas and content, and provide regular feedback on their work and performance.
Training and mentorship will include:
Understanding The Normies' brand, audience, and content library. Identifying and evaluating current social media trends. Finding and editing clips from existing content. Creating short-form, social-first videos. Developing and pitching original content ideas. Participating in studio filming sessions. Preparing content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Reviewing basic social media analytics and using performance to improve future content. Regular check-ins with their supervisor to discuss progress and learning goals. Responsibilities The learner will complete creative, project-based assignments focused primarily on content creation, trend research, editing, and creative development, rather than administrative work.
Projects may include:
Trend Research:
Monitor TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms to identify trends and develop ideas that fit The Normies' audience.
Content Repurposing:
Find engaging moments from The Normies' existing video catalog and turn them into short-form clips with hooks, captions, graphics, and platform-specific edits.
Original Content:
Pitch and develop short-form video ideas based on current trends, then help plan, film, and edit approved concepts.
Studio Filming:
Participate in scheduled studio filming sessions, helping create a library of content that can be edited and posted throughout the week.
Publishing:
Prepare approved content for social platforms, including captions, hashtags, thumbnails, and platform-specific formatting.
Performance Review:
Review basic metrics such as views and engagement with the supervisor and use the results to improve future content. The learner will receive guidance throughout these projects and will not be expected to independently manage productions or the organization's social media strategy. The Intern will have a designated point of contact at The Normies who will serve as their supervisor and mentor. They will provide orientation, set learning goals, assign appropriate projects, review work, provide feedback, and guide the learner during studio filming and content creation. Regular check-ins will help track progress and address questions. As the learner develops, they will have opportunities to work more independently while continuing to receive guidance and feedback. This is an hourly paid, entry-level internship focused on learning through hands-on projects. The learner will not be responsible for independently managing The Normies' social media or expected to have management or extensive professional experience. Most of the Intern's time will be spent on creative and technical work, including trend research, content development, video editing, filming, publishing, and performance analysis. Administrative duties will be minimal and secondary to the learning experience. Work may be completed remotely, with scheduled time at The Normies' studio for collaboration, mentorship, and filming.
