Position Summary We are seeking a passionate, creative, and faith-driven believer in Jesus Christ to serve as our Communications/Social Media Ministry Leader to steward our church's digital presence. This role is more than posting content—it is a calling to use digital platforms as a tool for evangelism, discipleship, community building, and worship extension. You will lead strategy, create compelling visual content, and engage both in-house and online audiences in ways that reflect Christ's love and advance the mission of our church. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, etc.) aligned with the church's vision and seasonal ministry focuses. Create, schedule, and publish original content including sermons clips, testimonies, event promotions, devotional series, live streams, and community engagement posts.
Lead graphics generation efforts:
Design eye-catching visuals, motion graphics, thumbnails, stories, reels, and campaign assets using tools like Canva Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma. Manage video production and editing : Film, edit, and optimize short-form and long-form videos (Reels, YouTube videos, live streams) using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Oversee content calendar, analytics, and performance reporting to refine strategy and maximize reach/engagement. Moderate comments, respond to messages, and foster meaningful online conversations that point people toward Christ and the local church. Collaborate with ministry leaders, worship team, and pastors to create integrated campaigns (e.g., sermon series, outreach events, prayer initiatives). Stay current with social media trends, algorithms, and best practices while ensuring all content upholds biblical truth and the church's values. Recruit, train, and lead a volunteer social media ministry team. Required Qualifications & Experience Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ with a clear testimony and alignment with Converge Church's mission, statement of faith and core values. Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience managing social media for a church, ministry, nonprofit, or similar organization. Strong portfolio demonstrating graphics generation skills (static and motion graphics). Demonstrated video experience , including shooting, editing, and producing high-quality short-form and long-form content. Proficiency in graphic design tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) and video editing software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a heart for storytelling. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for live events or services. Self-motivated, creative, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced ministry environment. Preferred Skills Experience with live streaming platforms (YouTube Live, Facebook Live, etc.). Knowledge of SEO and hashtag strategies for ministry content. Basic photography and on-site filming experience. Leadership or volunteer management experience. Understanding of social media algorithms, analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, YouTube Analytics, etc.), and paid promotion strategies.
