Job Description

Overview We are seeking an energetic, curious, patient, and competent human to serve as Personal Assistant to our non-profit's President/Founder. We are seeking to put together our initial luanch website with all the information about our mission, our programs, and how to help or get help. First and foremost, the candidate must be willing to work with a mildly physically and mentally "disabled" client. The job involves good listening and note taking, and working with our founder to organize their thoughts into a structure that is more easily understandable by the widest spectrum of the public possible. This will require a patient personality and ability to take good notesremember conversations, and be capable of organizing concepts and ideas in their minds and on paper. Basic computer skills (not just using the internet) are required, intermediate computer skills and solid typing skills are preferred, but most important is a willingness to •learn• about computers, as training will be provided. The website will be built using the Ghost platform (ghost.org) in case the candidate would like to see the type of systems they would be working in. We can provide a computer if candidate does not have their own. We are also in need of a Social Media Manager to assist in creating an managing The New Synthesis' online presence across digital platforms, and are hoping to fill both roles with the same person if possible. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about trying to bring both humanity and the earth closer to healing, and helping to create a decent future for the children of today and generations to come. Responsibilities Come to founders home office and help them organize their vision into specific web pages, create the website layout (not design, but more like sitemap) Manage some email and phone communications for The New Synthesis Handle office management duties such as filing, data entry, bookkeeping with QuickBooks, and maintaining organized records (not much of this if any). Oversee social media accounts- helping to create accounts on all digital platforms, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement metrics, and responding to comments or messages in a timely manner. Proofread and edit digital content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency; assist with transcription tasks when needed. Learn website creation and management skills if deeper role is desired. Drive founder to appointments and on errands. Valid Oregon DL required. Car can be provided if necessary. Experience Prior social media management experience across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn; familiarity with social media scheduling tools is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace applications (Docs, Sheets), and most importantly, desire to acquire new computer skills as the training is one of the great benefits of this position Experience with bookkeeping software like QuickBooks and basic bookkeeping principles would be great addition but is not required. Good typing speed combined with proofreading and transcription skills to ensure high-quality output . Knowledge of event planning procedures and project coordination techniques to support various initiatives . Join us in this vibrant role where your organizational talents meet your creative flair!
