Under the general direction of the Director of Agency Advancement, Villa of Hope is seeking a creative, motivated Social Media & Marketing Intern to support the agencys marketing and communications efforts. The intern will assist with social media content creation, digital marketing initiatives, and storytelling to help elevate awareness of Villa of Hopes mission, programs, and impact in the community. This role provides handson experience in nonprofit marketing while contributing directly to missiondriven work.

This position, a pivotal part of the organizations overall strategy, will be responsible for carrying out all responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agencys Mission, Vision, and Values in conjunction with the Sanctuary Commitments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content for Villa of Hopes social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)Draft captions, short-form copy, and basic graphics consistent with brand voice and guidelinesSupport campaign development for events, programs, and fundraising initiativesMonitor social media engagement and assist with basic analytics and reportingCapture photos and short videos at events or programs (as appropriate and approved)Assist with website updates, email communications, and other marketing projectsCollaborate with program staff to highlight success stories and impact narrativesPerform other marketing and communications tasks as assignedOther duties as assigned by the Director of Agency Advancement
QUALIFICATIONS
RequiredCurrently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Media, or a related fieldStrong written communication skillsFamiliarity with major social media platformsInterest in nonprofit work, community engagement, and storytellingAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with a diverse group of volunteers, staff and donorsPreferredExperience with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite)Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, etc.)Photography or short-form video experienceUnderstanding of nonprofit or human services environments
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computerFrequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, camera, or other office equipmentAbility to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through digital platformsOccasionally required to stand, walk, bend, or lift lightweight materials (up to 10 lbs.)May be required to attend events or program activities, including light setup or breakdownOccasional nights and weekendsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions

A drivers license or valid transportation arrangements required; mileage reimbursement provided in accordance with agency policy (if applicable)Occasional local travel within Monroe County or surrounding areas may be requiredTravel may include attending agency events, programs, or community outreach activitiesNo overnight travel is expected
