Summary:

Wayne Senior Center is seeking a Social Media/Marketing Intern to help increase the visibility of our programs by creating compelling photo/video content. We are an innovative community space with several new initiatives to promote, including delicious chef-made meals, a unique digital literacy program, a whole-person wellness philosophy and our own podcast. The internship will provide opportunities to develop skills in professionalism, communication, branding, video editing, photography, and messaging for multiple audiences. The Wayne Senior Center team is a fun and supportive group and this internship is an excellent opportunity for a creative, motivated individual to gain experience in a professional work environment, learn the operations of a nonprofit and build a portfolio of marketing material. The Social Media/Marketing Intern will be supervised by the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement and collaborate with other awesome team members to develop, capture and edit content. This 11-week paid internship runs from September 8th - November 23rd and is a 6-hour per week role, with 50% in-person at the Center from 10:00am-1:00pm one day per week (excluding Friday-Sunday), and 50% remote flexible schedule. The total stipend is $1,000.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Center staff in developing creative, entertaining, or insightful social media content to increase brand awareness and drive engagement Capture photo/video content of Center members and programs. Create posts, reels, and carousels for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn Incorporate social media trends, top stories, etc. Help maintain digital files of photos, videos, and text content Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field Proficiency in content creation, photography, video and creating visually appealing graphics Experience managing social media accounts (personal or professional) Knowledge of various social media platforms and their respective best practices Must have reliable form of transportation Ability to take initiative Ability to prioritize and be flexible when necessary Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community Passion for the mission of
