We're searching for our next Social Media Specialist to work with our teams across federal, state, and local government client accounts. This is a hybrid role requiring the ability to travel onsite to the client's office in the D.C. metro area up to one day per week.

The TeamWe are a team of digital media communications strategists and specialists working together to provide our clients with social media management, content writing, social listening, metrics reporting, digital engagement strategies, and training.
As a Social Media Specialist, you will:
- Support the Social Media Lead in the day-to-day management of client social media channels, including scheduling and publishing content using approved tools
- Research, write, and edit engaging social media copy and content across platforms, ensuring adnce to brand voice, plain language, and Section 508 accessibility standards
- Assist in monitoring social media channels and compiling social listening data on conversations, trends, and sentiment
- Support social media event coverage, such as Twitter chats, Facebook Live events, and other real-time engagement opportunities
- Create and schedule content using UTM links and platform scheduling tools to support campaign tracking
- Upload and caption videos to client YouTube channels and other video platforms as needed
- Assist with the development of graphics and templates for use in social media posts, working with creative team members
- Track and compile performance metrics and support the preparation of monthly reporting and recommendations
- Provide backup coverage for posting and community management as needed
- Assist in the development of content calendars and campaign materials for national observances and key events
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and tasks on a day-to-day basis Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in social media platform management and content development
- 3+ years of experience writing and editing social media content across platforms
- 3+ years of experience with social media platform management, content development, analytics and listening tools
- US citizenship is required by the contract Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience at an advertising or consulting agency
- Experience working in highly regulated industries or with government agencies to build social media communications plans
- Experience developing public health plans and strategies Professional skills:
- Demonstrated experience integrating creative, data/analytics, and/or other client services teams to develop fully integrated, insight-driven campaigns
- Experience developing social media and communications plans and presenting to leadership teams
- Detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
- Strong writing skills
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- Comfortable working with remote teams
- Ability to work independently, seek help as needed and contribute to team and company culture Please note: This role is contingent upon a contract award.
