What you are about:

The Social Media Specialist will be the primary driver of social media presence for our portfolio of clinics in Chicago. Working closely with our Clinic Managers, you will bring our physicians, providers, and treatments to life through high-quality, platform-native content. Strategy will be developed in close partnership with the Regional Marketing Manager, who will define the overarching direction and priorities. Your role is to bring that strategy to life with creativity, consistency, and precision, staying in regular alignment to ensure content always ladders up to broader practice goals.

Responsibilities:

Content Research & Strategy Research peer-reviewed studies, journals, and literature on facial aesthetics, skin science, beauty science, and the science of attraction. Synthesize complex scientific findings into clear, engaging narratives for broad audiences. Write detailed video scripts that balance clinical accuracy with an accessible, conversational tone. Develop and maintain content calendars and strategic plans, including a monthly calendar with a consistent, on-brand publishing cadence. Ensure brand consistency and editorial voice across all platforms and formats. Before & After Photography and Patient Journey Manage and publish content across all active social media accounts Coordinate collaboration posts and content featuring individual provider profiles Monitor platform performance metrics and provide regular reporting on key KPIs (i.e. followers, reach, engagement, conversions). Stay current on platform algorithm changes, trends, and best practices in medical and wellness social media. Video Production & Editing MShoot and edit high-quality video for short-form (TikTok, Instagram Reels) and long-form (YouTube) formats, optimized for each platform. Handle lighting, audio, color grading, motion graphics, transitions, and visual effects. Plan, shoot, and edit photo and video content featuring physicians, providers, clinic spaces, and treatments across our Chicago clinics. Repurpose and optimize content across platforms to maximize reach and relevance. Copywriting & Captions Write captions and hooks that capture attention and drive engagement. Create narrative copy that educates while maintaining a luxe, accessible brand voice. Tailor copy to each channel, from casual on TikTok to professional on LinkedIn, while maintaining accuracy and clinical credibility. Social Media Posting & Publishing Post original, on-brand content to TikTok and Instagram daily. Publish one article weekly on The Social Skin Substack and cross-post to LinkedIn with appropriate formatting and commentary. Post to YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Threads as directed by Dr. Dayan and the strategic plan. Coordinate collaboration posts and content featuring individual provider profiles. Support thought leadership materials developed for and funneled to the broader Vos Collection channels. Live Streaming & Real-Time Engagement Host and manage 1-2 live streams per week with Dr. Dayan, handling camera positioning, lighting, audio, platform connection, and backup systems. Monitor and respond to live comments, and facilitate interaction between Dr. Dayan and the audience. Capture, edit, and repurpose live content into clips, highlights, or full episodes. Community Management Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely, professional, and warm manner, representing Dr. Dayan's brand and voice. Conduct daily engagement across profiles, including patient content, partner accounts, and industry conversations. Manage spam, negative comments, and inappropriate content per brand standards and platform policies. Identify and escalate patient-related inquiries or sensitive comments in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and practice policies. Leads, Analytics & Collaboration Forward relevant leads and ad inquiries to Dr. Dayan's surgical coordinator promptly, and keep clear communication on lead status, consents, before-and-afters, and patient journey documentation. Track monthly performance (views, reach, engagement rate, click-through rate, follower growth, conversions), and report on trends, recommendations, and campaign results to Dr. Dayan. Stay current on algorithm changes, trends, and best practices in medical and wellness social media. Partner with the Regional Marketing Manager and Clinic Managers through regular check-ins, content reviews, and strategy meetings, and contribute creative ideas. Support influencer and partnership outreach as directed. Qualifications & Requirements Experience 3+ years of social media management experience, ideally in a healthcare, medical aesthetics, wellness, or luxury consumer brand context. Demonstrated track record of growing social media followings and driving measurable engagement Portfolio of original content (photo, video, reels, carousels) required. Experience working with or marketing to medical providers or clinical teams is strongly preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA considerations as they apply to social media and patient content. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in content creation tools including Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva, or equivalent. Strong on-camera direction skills; able to make physicians and providers feel comfortable and look their best. Excellent written communication and copywriting ability; strong command of brand voice and tone. Experience using native platform analytics and/or tools such as Instagram Insights, HubSpot Social, Sprout Social, Later, or similar. Culturally aware and trend-savvy; actively monitors current events, holidays, seasonal moments, and emerging trends both in popular culture and within the dermatology and medical aesthetics space to ensure content remains timely, relevant, and resonant. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously. Collaborative and professional, with strong interpersonal skills for working alongside physicians and clinical staff Self-motivated and reliable; able to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid environment.
