Job Description

Department College of Arts and Sciences Status Part-Time Time Period 2026-2027 school year Available August 17, 2026 Description Digital media and cinema adjunct faculty position to teach video and digital media courses, including video production, digital editing, and digital film production; ensure that student learning objectives are met and that every student learns at the highest level possible. Faculty must be able to advance the evangelical Christian mission of the institution. CIU utilizes Canvas for its learning management system. Teaching load is one course per semester. This is a local on-site position. Responsibilities Provide instruction for on-campus video production, digital editing, and digital film production courses. Endorse and model professional standards and proficiencies Assist regularly with assessment of CIU's digital media and cinema curriculum Yearly affirm the institution's mission, doctrinal positions, and community standards. Qualifications Ability to teach effectively at the college level. Experience teaching graphic design courses at the college level OR significant professional experience in video and digital media production. Master's degree in media or related area preferred; a bachelor's degree with significant professional experience will be considered. Competency in utilizing learning management tools and classroom technology. Ability to use technology effectively in teaching as appropriate. An understanding of the needs and trends associated with traditional college age students. Commitment to CIU's mission and vision. Commitment to live within the standards of the CIU community. Bachelor's degree in digital media production from an accredited university or related field along with related experience. Master's degree in digital media production or related field from an accredited university preferred.
