Posting Information Requisition 202600264ST Title Student Employee- Student Wellness- Social Media Assistant Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position No Department Student Wellness Division Division of Student Affairs Hours per week 15 Hiring Rate $9.00 per hour Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position This student position will create social media content for the SHSU Healthy Kats platforms. This account posts content health and wellness related content to support the following departments: Student Wellness, Student Health Center, Counseling Center, Services for Students with Disabilities, and collaborates with Campus Recreation. The position will also provide assistance with front desk coverage (i.e., answering phones, greeting guests, etc.) as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create wellness-related content for social media that includes but is not limited to reels, posts, videos, and photos. Develop visually appealing graphics for events and program marketing. Capture content at department events and programs via video, photos, story updates, and live feeds. Brainstorm creative ideas for social media campaigns, wellness initiatives, and student engagement. Help increase student engagement by creating relevant, timely, and creative health promotion content. Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Assist with front desk coverage including but not limited to greeting visitors and answering phones, as needed. Additional duties may be assigned to support the team. Other Requirements for the
Position Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled student at SHSU. Must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Must have knowledge of the following social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook. Must be able to use the following and/or similar software: CANVA, Adobe Express, Adobe Illustrator, CapCut, etc. Must be able to maintain a positive, upbeat, and professional attitude when interacting with others. Strong attention to detail including spelling and grammar. Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
