Job Description

Do you love digging into data, moving fast, and helping great content reach the right people? We're looking for a sharp, driven Social Media Intern to join FamilySearch's global social team. This is a working internship where you'll be contributing to real projects from day one alongside a small, fast-moving team that manages millions of followers across social platforms worldwide. The work matters here. FamilySearch exists to help people discover and connect with their family—and the social team plays a real role in making that happen. You'll build skills that prepare you for a career in experience design, social media, or digital marketing and you'll have the work to show for it. You Should Have Current student status or recent grad within 12 months (Experience Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred) A genuine passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and connecting families An experience design mindset. You think about audiences, user journeys, and how to make digital experiences better Some experience or interest in managing or growing a YouTube channel, including YouTube Studio, SEO, and performance metrics Familiarity with TubeBuddy or similar tools, or a real drive to learn them fast Genuine comfort with data. You've used analytics platforms, you know how to find the story in the numbers, and reporting what happened isn't enough for you Strong PowerPoint skills. Clean, well-structured, and clear Strong written communication and a feel for adapting tone across platforms and audiences A track record of meeting deadlines and keeping multiple projects moving at once The ability to stay composed and communicate clearly when things get busy Curiosity and the confidence to bring ideas forward without being asked Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm MT Bonus Points If You Have A portfolio with experience design, digital marketing, storytelling or social media work Experience with project management tools like Monday.com, Asana, or similar Basic video production knowledge or familiarity with livestream workflows Background or coursework in Experience Design, user journey mapping, or audience research Skills with CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere, or Photoshop Experience with influencer strategy or PR collaboration A track record of growing social accounts across multiple platforms Interest in family history and genealogy You're Also Someone Who Is Warm, trustworthy, and easy to work with A strong executor who follows through and takes ownership Analytical first. You'll have worked on things you can talk about in your next interview Deep, hands-on YouTube optimization skills including TubeBuddy, SEO, and performance analysis The ability to read data, build a compelling presentation, and turn findings into clear recommendations Experience design fundamentals including user journey mapping, audience segmentation, and understanding how people move through digital spaces Exposure to livestream production and video content workflows Experience working with teams across multiple countries and time zones A strong understanding of global content distribution and what it takes to share best practices at scale What You'll Do Support YouTube optimization efforts including SEO, metadata, thumbnails, Tube Buddy, and multi-language strategy to help more people find us on the world's second-largest search engine Dig into analytics regularly and present clear, data-backed findings and recommendations to the team, including building PowerPoint decks that communicate the story behind the numbers Help map and improve the user journey across our social channels, thinking about how our audiences discover us, engage with us, and take action Support livestream production efforts by learning the workflow, helping things run smoothly, and bringing ideas that make our broadcasts better Coordinate and distribute campaign and program assets to social teams around the world, making sure best practices travel with them Work alongside FamilySearch social teams across multiple homelands and continents Help maintain content systems that keep regional teams publishing consistently Support influencer and VIP strategy in partnership with our PR team Assist with drafting social copy as needed Bring ideas.
